Citizens? Group Seeks Injunction Against Smart Meter Program
A complaint has been filed under Section 47 of the Utilities Commission Act requesting an injunctive freeze on the wireless component of the Smart Meter Program without delay. This action is being taken to engage the Commission s administrative function as a regulator of BC Hydro in accordance with the rule of law; only by operation of the rule of law can the public interest in health, security, privacy and safety be factored into Smart Meter Program decisions.
Up until now, the Commission as a regulator has been left out and, with that, any consideration of the public interest has been eliminated from BC Hydro s decision. The action taken is about preserving the regulatory oversight and democratic process we uphold under the rule of law in British Columbia. BC Hydro cannot be allowed to act with impunity, without regard to the public interest, on a matter that raises serious concerns with respect to human health, environmental integrity, individual privacy and civil liberties.
The Clean Energy Act purports to excuse BC Hydro from having to obtain a BCUC issued Certificate of 'public convenience and necessity' but not with respect to the wireless and snooping components of the Smart Meter Program. The Commission is requested to issue relief on an urgent and interim basis, without hearing and without delay, so as to effectively freeze any and all activity being carried out by BC Hydro in contravention of section 45(1) of the Utilities Commission Act. Any delay in the issuance of the relief sought will allow BC Hydro to continue with unauthorized expenditures associated with the Unauthorized Extensions. This Action is taken to preserve and give weight to the public interest with regard to the deployment of the Smart Meter Program in British Columbia.

Also, 3AW Mornings Presenters Justin Smith and Nick McCallum slammed Premier Ted Baillieu for not honestly addressing public concern and outcry about the roll out. Justin was adamant the Baillieu government's review was purely for political reasons.
'We have been absolutely and totally conned by Ted Baillieu. The government had absolutely no intention of issuing a stop to the program when they called for a review,' Justin Smith said.

Smartphones oder andere Mobilfunk-Geräte faszinieren und verführen dazu, die möglichen Gefahren bei der Nutzung des energiefressenden Mobilfunks zu verdrängen. Rund eine Milliarde Menschen weltweit werden zum Jahresende das »mobile« Breitband nutzen: Sie funken mittels hochfrequent strahlender Mikrowellen-Technologie. In unserer Gesellschaft ist die Tabuisierung oder Verharmlosung gesundheitlicher Risiken durch Mobilfunk-Strahlung weit verbreitet, zumal sie von maßgeblichen Instanzen unterstützt wird. Und auch die Kirchen schweigen dazu.
Werner Thiede ist evangelischer Pfarrer und Professor für Systematische Theologie (Dogmatik und Ethik) an der Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. Er arbeitet als theologischer Referent in Regensburg.

Die Schöpfung bewahren vor zuviel Mobilfunk

Der fortwährende Ausbau im Mobilfunkbereich ist technologisch wie ökonomisch gewünscht. Wenig bedacht werden die gesundheitlichen Schädigungen. Werner Thiede macht die Gegenrechnung auf und fordert ethischen Einspruch ? nicht zuletzt seitens der Kirchen.
?Theologische Ethik sollte hier nicht länger wegschauen. Die großen christlichen Kirchen sind aufgerufen, sich mit ihren Mitteln für einen effektiven Schutz der Menschen, insbesondere der leidenden Minderheit elektrosensibler Zeitgenossen vor der zunehmenden hochfrequenten elektromagnetischen Strahlung einzusetzen.
?Die christlichen Kirchen müssen sich umweltethisch entsprechend sorgfältig positionieren, ähnlich wie sie sich zur »Energie-Wende« nicht nur neutral gegeben haben. Sie werden auch noch deutlicher als bisher zu erklären haben, dass offene oder kaschierte Sendemasten auf Kirchtürmen sowohl in symbolischer als auch ethischer Hinsicht fehl am Platze sind...
Zur guten Broschüre 'Mobilfunk auf dem Kirchturm' (2002/2003), die ja bekanntlich nicht mehr aufgelegt wird, aber insofern noch aktuell ist, da weiterhin viele klammheimlich installierte Mobilfunksendeanlagen sich gegen den Willen der betroffenen Bevölkerung in Kirchtürmen befinden und die Menschen mit Mikrowellen bestrahlen!
Studie über die Anzahl der Neuerkrankungen verschiedener Krebsarten in Australien
In der retrospektiven Multicenter-Studie in zwei australischen Bundesstaaten mit insgesamt mehr als 7 Millionen Einwohnern wurden die Neuerkrankungszahlen (Inzidenz) des Zeitraums 2000 bis 2008 für drei verschiedene Arten von Hirntumoren ausgewertet. Die Hauptergebnisse sind:
? Signifikanter Anstieg der Inzidenz von Glioblastomen (jährlicher prozentualer Anstieg: 2,5%), insbesondere ab 2006; bei Personen über 65 jährlich 3,0% Anstieg. Ein Glioblastom bildet sich aus Glia-(Stütz-)Zellen des Gehirns und ist die häufigste und gefährlichste Form von bösartigen Hirntumoren.
? Ansteigender Trend für Meningeom (meist gutartiger Hirnhauttumor) bei Männern.
? Deutlich abnehmender Trend für das Schwannom, statistisch signifikant bei Frauen, aber nicht bei Männern. Das Schwannom ist ein gutartiger und meist langsam wachsender Tumor des peripheren Nervensystems, der von den sogenannten Schwann-Zellen ausgeht, deren Aufgabe das Umhüllen von Nervenfasern ist. Beispiel für ein Schwannom ist das Akustikusneurinom (Hörnervtumor).
Die Autoren halten einen weiteren Anstieg der Inzidenz bösartiger Tumore in den nächsten Jahren für möglich, weil diese meist erst spät diagnostiziert werden. Sie könnten also vielfach schon heute in der Entstehung, aber noch unentdeckt sein. Die genannten Tumorarten werden alle im Zusammenhang mit einer möglichen Krebsgefahr durch Mobiltelefonbenutzung diskutiert.
