Some times ago several researchers from various countries have published their results on a cancer study: ?The Intracranial Distribution of Gliomas in Relation to Exposure From Mobile Phones: Analyses From the INTERPHONE Study.? Am J Epidemiol. 2016 Dec 1;184(11):818-828. Epub 2016 Nov 3. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/27810856
From abstract of the study I made wrong conclusion that risk for glioma was always negligibly small for regular(up to 27 minutes per day) mobile phone users.
Perhaps just due to same reason Lennart Hardell wrote his response:? The correct interpretation of this study is simply that it confirms an increased risk for glioma associated with mobile phone use.?. https://lennarthardellenglish.wordpress.com/2016/11/08/new-results-from-interphone-confirm-glioma-risk-associated-with-use-of-mobile-phones/comment-page-1/#comment-320
Now I think that that study is one of the most important studies about influence of the mobile phone on human health.
In general, the researchers and Lennart Hardell undoubtedly agree that increased risk for the glioma associated with mobile phone use, is present. The researchers have written about this:? Similar to earlier results, we found a statistically significant association between the intracranial distribution of gliomas and the self-reported location of the phone. When we accounted for the preferred side of the head not being exclusively used for all mobile phone calls, the results were similar.?.
But most important their sentence has been written behind it:? The association was independent of the cumulative call time and cumulative number of calls.?.
In other words, increased risk for glioma associated with frequent and long calls by the mobile phone is as big as the risk for glioma due to rare and short calls by the mobile phone.
Thus, even for the user who communicates by rare and short calls only, statistically significant risk for glioma is present. It is very alarm ?call?.
We do not know about true safe limit of microwave radiation. We do not know about many other possibly detrimental factors (frequency, reflection from metal surface, microwave resonance in head etc.).
Nevertheless, if the study is truth.
1. The IARC classification for RFR should be Group1.
2. National norms of microwave radiation should be adequate.
3. The users should always use speakerphone or hands ?free gadgets.
4. It is very important to persuade manufacturers to produce mobile phones additionally with low radiation mode. Radiated power could be reduced up to 1-3 mW for use of the phone in a modern town. At least I used such phone over 2 years without essential problems.
Power flux density from the phone at distance about 40 cm is less than 1000 µW/m2. Many independent researchers and organizations have suggested this level as a safe limit for protection from serious diseases.
