I was re-reading ''Disconnect'' by D. Davis last night. Page 232 there is a 2002 study by Dariusz Leszczynski who was working at the Finland National Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority at the time (a government agency).
The study essentially showed that after just 1 hour of regular cell phone exposure, the endothelial cells in blood looked different. This means the blood brain barrier is damaged and that molecules that damage brain cells can enter the brain.
His study confirmed what Allan Frey and Salford determined in the 1970's and 90's.
Leszczynski stated that ''if the blood brain barrier is damaged, people would be experiencing headaches, fatigue and problems sleeping'' (common symptoms of smart meters) and ''maybe even much more serious issues down the line.''
He went further in stating that ''the reason this finding was so upsetting was not that we proved cell phones were bad for you, but that it clearly showed that radiation from a phone had biological impact. After this work, which in fact repeated that of many others and was done in our laboratories, the world can no longer pretend that the only problems with cell phones occurred after you could measure a change in temperature. This view was always mistaken, of course, and our work showed that.''
With smart meters, the companies/utilities are always stating that they act just like a cell phone and are no worse. They constantly say there can be no non-thermal biological effect (just as cell phone companies state). We should throw this back at them as this is patently false and the above study (along with many others) show this. The symptoms these researchers predicted are happening to people affected by smart meters across the country and world.

I have attached a copy of the legal complaint that I filed Monday 12/17/12, about harm caused by smart meter radiation. Feel free to share this document. It is a matter of public record. I hope that others can use my work as a sample to file their own cases. If we all stand up for our rights, the offenders will have to take notice.

UK: Bridgewater unanimously passes law to regulate cell phone towers

PG&E gets earful over SmartMeters at Santa Rosa hearing
Two hundred people turned out Thursday in Santa Rosa to rail against PG&E SmartMeters, complaining that individual opt-out fees are unfair, that cities should be able to get out of the program and that the wireless technology is a health threat.

Abstract
The aim of this study is to determine the effects of magnetic field via cell phones on some blood parameters and neurons in the brain of rats. Animals have been classified into three groups: control, Magnetic Field (MF), and F2 groups. Throughout this study, cell phones were placed on the wall of the cages. Rats were exposed to the effects of cell phones during prenatal and postnatal periods until they were 80 days old. During the study, the exposure procedure of rats was that the phone was in standby mode for a whole day and in talking mode for 30 min per day. The waves of cell phones caused an increased blood glucose level from 96.52 ± 5.64 mg/dl to 132.14 ± 5.93 mg/dl and an increased serum protein level from 131.14 ± 6.19 mg/dl to 319.29 ± 6.73 mg/dl compared to control. Statistically, significant differences wasn t observed in the blood cholesterol concentration between the groups compared to the control. Weekly weight gain decreased in all groups compared to the control. MF exposure decreased pyramidal neuron numbers 51.15% and increased ischemic neuron numbers 73% at cortex region of brain. In addition, vascular dilatations have increased clearly in group F2.Whereas the procedure of MF did not have any effects on hippocampal pyramidal cell numbers, magnetic fields increased the amount of ischemic neurons three-fold compared to the control. In conclusion, MF affected some biochemical parameters, especially the cortex region of the brain.

Abstract
The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of an extremely low frequency sinusoidal magnetic field (ELF MF) with frequency of 10 Hz and intensity of 1.8-3.8 mT on the levels of the biogenic amines dopamine (DA), 3,4-dihydroxyphenylacetic acid (DOPAC), homovanillic acid (HVA), 3-methoxytyramine (3-MT), 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT), 5-hydroxyindolacetic acid (5-HIAA), and noradrenaline (NA), as well as on DA and 5-HT turnover in corpus striatum and frontal cortex of adult male Wistar rats. We found that ELF MF exposure for 14 days, 1 h daily, did not influence the level of the examined biogenic amines and metabolites, but increased the rate of synthesis (turnover) of DA and 5-HT in rat frontal cortex as compared to control, sham exposed rats. On the basis of the present results and our previous findings, extremely low frequency magnetic field (ELF MF) exposure has been found to alter both turnover and receptor reactivity of monoaminergic systems, as well as some behaviors induced by these systems or their agonists and antagonists.
