Microwave exposure has been shown in studies to induce what is known as 'subliminal' stress (since the body does not know it is being stressed) causing the adrenal glands to excrete an abnormally greater amount of cortisol and adrenaline. Excretion of adrenaline, for one, can lead to irritability and a feeling of hyperactivity - the latter now very common in children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). In a continuous state this will eventually lead to adrenal exhaustion, in which the adrenal glands just stop working.

For Marshall and Edna Pettipas what was supposed to be a dream home has turned into a nightmare. The Antigonish couple has launched a lawsuit against Bell Aliant Regional Communications Inc. claiming a telecommunications tower built on their property has made them sick.

The strong majority of scientific study directly related to cell tower emissions, indicate very big trouble for us all. This is ignored by our federal regulator. On the Pettipas? case might rest the public & environmental health of all Canadians. For one indicator, health care costs after plateauing in the ?90s finally, began their current unsustainable inexorable year-over-year rise from when? The inception of mass cell telephony, late ?90s. And that s not all about aging & equipment acquisition. Add to that all the other ambient electrosmog endangering us all (wifi, smart meters, phones, etc), and you will see why any court judgement properly in the Pettipas? favour, stands to positively affect the health of all of us through inducing corrective regulatory measures at least.
The guidelines the defendant points to and abides by, 'Health' Canada s, were obsolete from inception, taking into account effectively merely possible heating effect from such radiation, and only considering power levels; whereas research has long shown, regardless of whether we have satisfactory explanatory 'mechanisms' for the wide array of reported & studied radiofrequency harm, that many other factors are relevant in judging safety or lack thereof, e.g. modulation pattern, resonance, biovariability, bioeffect 'windows' (non-linearity of response), peaks, and so on. Let the grossly unprotective inadequacy of 'Health' Canada?s (Orwellian-named) 'Safety' Code 6 be implicitly or explicitly established before the wide public, to which end it is hoped the Pettipas? just cause contributes.

Studie: Beeinflussung von Spermien durch ein Notebook mit WLAN-Verbindung
Wissenschaftler aus Córdoba (Argentinien) und Norfolk (USA) untersuchten Spermienproben von 29 gesunden Probanden im Alter von 26-45 Jahren. Die Forscher stellten jeweils einen Teil der Proben (in Petrischalen und mit Öl überschichtet) im Abstand von 3 cm unter die vordere Kante eines Notebooks, das über WLAN mit dem Internet verbunden war. Hierdurch sollte die räumliche Situation in Bezug auf den Abstand zu den Hoden beim Gebrauch des Laptop-Computers auf dem Schoß eines Anwenders simuliert werden. Der jeweils andere Teil der Proben, der als Kontrolle diente, wurde in einen anderen Raum ohne Laptop gestellt. Nach vier Stunden Exposition (während denen der Computer 'Daten herauf- und herunterlud') wurden die Spermienqualität (Vitalität, Mobilität) und der Grad der DNA-Fragmentierung zwischen exponierten und nicht exponierten Proben verglichen.
Hauptbefunde:
(1) verminderter Prozentsatz von 'progressiv beweglichen' Spermien (nur solche können eine Eizelle befruchten) in den exponierten Proben,
(2) erhöhter Prozentsatz an Zellen, die fragmentierte, also zum Teil zerstörte DNA aufwiesen. Bei der Überlebensrate und der 'nicht-progressiven' Beweglichkeit wurden keine signifikanten Unterschiede festgestellt. Die Autoren vermuten aufgrund ihrer Befunde, dass ein über WLAN verbundenes Notebook auf dem Schoß eines Anwenders dessen Fruchtbarkeit beeinträchtigen könnte.

I sent the info to Knesset members (KM) on the WiFi included in IARC possible carcinogen definition. I received this morning the notification from KM Dr. Nachman Shai, that what I wrote in the email is today in the newspaper. It turns out that he asked the env. minister about it. The education programme is defined in the purpose of fitting the education system to the 21th century (=becoming wireless).
The article says that several parents approached to Nachman Shai on the issue of WiFi. Refering to the new programm of the education ministry to explain pupils how to decrease exposures, while putting WiFi in front of them in schools at the same time, I was quoted that: 'Even when the children will learn to be careful from cell phone radiation, they will be exposed to the WiFi radiation intensively in schools. As long as the programme is not accompanied by a government decision to keep the pupils environment clean from radiation like from WiFi or other wireless equipment- it is a contradiction in the best case, and blaming the victim in the worst case. It is not reasonable to expose children to radiation and at the same time impose responsibility on them to be careful of the radiation'.
In the article KM Dr. Nachman Shai says: 'Combining wireless networks without an environment and health examination, is neglect of the first degree. It is needed to prevent any distribution of such networks until it will be certain that there is no danger for the teachers and children s health'.
The education ministry s position by Irit Livne health reponsible at the education ministry, is that there no study that proves that rounters harms health and there is not study that proves the contrary, so the recommendation is to use it wisely'.

From a subjective perspective, while collecting signatures to have a mast removed in my village in Ireland, the number of people suffering from cancer was an eye-opener: the five-year-old boy, the woman living under the mast with breast cancer, the man with the raspy voice undergoing investigations, the 18-year-old buried last week and many others.
Coincidentally, it was also interesting to see the bright orange truck from the company which leases space on the mast and the rather large vehicle of an international chip manufacturer parking alongside my small events tent. Neither driver signed the petition.

SUGAR LOAF Orange County Democratic lawmakers joined with Town of Highlands activist Deborah Kopald to celebrate the passage of a resolution demanding government studies to assess the potentially harmful impact of growing exposure to radiation from cell-phone transmitters, Wi-Fi systems and other wireless technology.
Orange County is only the third jurisdiction in the country after New Mexico and San Francisco to take action or make a statement on the health concerns associated with wireless radiation, according to Kopald, who had urged county lawmakers to draw attention to the issue.
Orange s resolution, adopted by a 19-2 vote Oct. 6, urged the state and federal governments to 'initiate epidemiological studies of populations exposed to microwave transmitters.' Democratic lawmakers pushed for the resolution, which wound up having bipartisan support.

Exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMF) is ubiquitous for almost all individuals living in industrialized countries. Epidemiological and laboratory studies suggest that exposure to Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) EMF increase cancer risk. The immune system functions as one of the body s main protective mechanisms, and Natural Killer (NK) cells are a subset of lymphocytes that can destroy several types of tumor cells. In this study, we investigated, NK cell activity after exposure to a 50 Hertz (Hz), 2 mT magnetic field generated by a Helmholtz Coil. Nineteen male, 10-12 week old guinea pigs were used, and NK cytotoxic activity of splenocytes was measured in vitro by natural anticandidial colorimetric index. The Mann-Whitney U test was applied for statistical analysis. NK cell cytotoxic activity was decreased in exposed compared to controls.
