EHS Connect Forum

My name is Victor Khong (the husband of Michelle Wong who has worked the Wi-Fi booth for the BCC PAC annual general meeting & BCTF annual general meeting of late).

The EHS community has been lacking a web forum to discuss issues, schooling choices, white zones and safe places. RF levels in the cities have gradually been increasing while safety standards have been slow to change although recognition of the concerns have become more widely known.

Most of our discussions occur through email. Responding to a request, I have setup an internet discussion board called EHS CONNECT for our community to discuss our particular issues and concerns. You may visit the forum by clicking on this link:

The forum is searchable and provides a consistent location for information to be archived and forwarded to others for easy reference. This removes some risk in forwarding emails and addresses some privacy concerns during email discussions. It is a meeting place for like minded individuals to support each other. As with anything else, the forum will only be as good as the people who make up the forum.

Flieden: Gemeindevertreter wollen Mobilfunkvorsorgekonzept

Abstimmung mit großer Mehrheit durch SPD und CDU

Flieden. Fliedens Gemeindevertreter/Innen haben sich auf der vergangenen Sitzung am 08.10.2013 im Ortsteil Rückers für ein Mobilfunkvorsorgekonzept für Flieden ausgesprochen. CDU-Gemeindevertreter und Vorsitzender des Bauausschuss Klaus Neidert: ?Die Menschen, die bereits in der Gemeinde wohnen, sollen ein lebens- und liebenswertes Leben in Flieden haben. Die Menschen die in Erwägung ziehen, hierher zu ziehen, sollen eine attraktive Gemeinde vorfinden.? Man wolle ein Mobilfunkvorsorgekonzept, um künftig mitbestimmen zu können, wo in der Gemeinde Mobilfunkmasten aufgestellt werden. Stefan Schaub (SPD) stellte den gut formulierten Fraktionsantrag vor. "Die gesundheitliche Belastung für die Bevölkerung soll so gering wie möglich gehalten werden". Die zwei anwesenden FDP-Gemeindevertreter stimmten dagegen, nicht ohne zuvor altbekannte Mobilfunklobby-Argumente und vor allem haltlose Thesen zum Besten zu geben. So sei die gesundheitliche Auswirkung auf die Bevölkerung gar nicht so schlimm, meinte Mark Matthies (FDP) im Plenum. Belegen konnte er die Behauptung nicht. Zumindest gibt er damit zu, dass es überhaupt gesundheitliche Auswirkungen gibt. Auch die These, dass ein Mobilfunkvorsorgekonzept vor keinem Gericht standhalten würde, basiert auf Spekulation. Zahlreiche Gemeinden und Städte haben schon ein solches Konzept und fahren gut damit. Seit 2012 gibt es vom Bundesverwaltungsgericht in Leipzig höchstrichterlich bestätigt die Möglichkeit der kommunalen Planungshoheit.

Die Gemeindevertreter wollen nun die Kosten für ein solches Konzept ermitteln lassen. Ob und wie dann ein Mobilfunkvorsorgekonzept umgesetzt wird, muss dann geklärt werden. Unser Verein MOWO bietet der Gemeinde Flieden und den politischen Fraktionen ihre Hilfe bei der Planung an.

Der Gemeindevertreterbeschluß wird auch im Artikel der Fuldaer Zeitung vom 12.10. unter

"Sie werden bald verschwinden? thematisiert, wobei die SPD-Fraktion die FDP hart attackiert. Der FZ-Artikel steht leider onlinemäßig nicht zur Verfügung.

Dass ein Mobilfunkkonzept für alle Beteiligten eine sinnvolle Lösung darstellt, wurde mehrfach sowohl in planerischer, als auch juristischer Hinsicht in der Vergangenheit thematisiert.

An important legal battle was recently fought by a woman with chemical sensitivities about being allowed to deduct expenses to protect her from chemical exposure.

Ireland: Mystery of massive rise in those quitting workforce on disability

Since 2006, there has been a 37.7pc increase in the number of people who have left the labour force citing a condition that substantially limits one or more basic physical activities.

This is not people who have been unfortunate enough to be born with a disability, but people who have developed a disabling condition. This means 55,000 people, bigger than Waterford, the country s fifth largest city. Between 2002 and 2006, the same figure only increased by 1pc which is less than 2,000 people.

So what has happened from 2006 to 2012 to cause 53,000 extra people to leave the labour force due to physical disability?

Meanwhile, the number of people leaving the labour force citing a psychological or emotional condition has risen even more dramatically, 88,000 people are now diagnosed with an emotional or psychological condition that is bad enough that they can t work. This is a 27,000 rise from the same figure in 2006.
