The Centre for Equality Rights in Accommodation (CERA)
Over the past five years CERA has received an increasing number of calls from tenants being made ill from the poor indoor air quality in their apartment buildings. Most of these clients have a condition called Multiple Chemical/Environmental Sensitivities that makes them particularly sensitive to contaminants in the air. In the process of advocating on behalf of these individual clients, we realized that a more systematic approach was needed. With funding assistance from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, CERA launched HomeSafe, an initiative to educate tenants and multi-unit housing providers on strategies to improve indoor air quality and create healthier living environments. We are currently in the process of developing a voluntary set of guidelines for housing providers and an associated resource guide.
The judicial council of the Drôme accused them to occupy of private land
valence / Saoû
The 14 electro-hypersensitive (EHS) installed in the forest of Saou will find another shelter. The judge rendered his decision yesterday and left them five weeks after the notification of the decision to leave.
The General Council of the Drôme, owner, had accused of illegal occupation of a protected natural site. At the hearing ten days ago, EHS had requested asylum Didier Guillaume, President of the General Council Drôme, explaining that the forest was one of the few places untouched by the Drôme electromagnetic fields. Yesterday Serge Sargentini representing EHS, called the decision "no bacon or pork (quick translation...). There is not even a financial penalty. If EHS leave, they will go elsewhere anyway. It is a matter of survival. "
"There are government services, the Ddass, a Minister of Health"
And the latter to turn to Royanne Patrick, vice president of the council and Isabelle Elzière-Delalle, Chief of Staff of Didier Guillaume, to request an appointment to find a new place. But the interlocutors have to understand that this was not within the competence of the Department: "There are government services, Ddass, a Minister of Health, noted Patrick Royanne.
It is truly a national and international cause not a battle in the Drome area.
The EHS have until early September to find a new site away from electromagnetic fields.

Preferring to err on the side of caution, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors on Tuesday voted 10-1 to require cell phone makers to post notices in their stores with details on the level of radiation each model emits. The ordinance requires retailers to post information on what is called the ?specific absorption rate? (SAR) of its products. The SAR rates measure the amount of radio wave radiation absorbed into the user?s body tissue. San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, who supports the ordinance, is expected to sign it into law...
