Smoke rises after a Nato air strike on the Libyan capital, Tripoli
This weekend provided sobering reminders of the human and financial cost of the three-month bombing campaign against Muammar Gaddafis regime: in Tripoli several civilians appeared to have been killed by a Nato strike; while in London the Treasury chief secretary, Danny Alexander, admitted that the bill for Britain s contribution could run to 'hundreds of millions of pounds'. Until now the UK government has shrouded the issue of how much taxpayers are spending on bombing Libya in the sort of secrecy and obfuscation you d expect if you asked the current location of all its Trident submarines. Anyone who has the temerity to ask how much Britain s Libya campaign is costing is reassured that it is all being paid for from Treasury reserves, so we needn t worry our pretty little heads. But anyone who has lost their EMA or disability living allowance could quite justifiably wonder why cash can be found for bombs but not for them.

Donald Cohen, Cry Wolf Project: 'Every year since 2003, the California Chamber of Commerce publishes its hit list of proposed legislation it labels 'job killers.' The list includes legislation to protect consumers, workers and the environment from irresponsible business practices, or raise revenues to fund public services, or support middle and working class families. The Chamber released their 2011 list on May 25. Hoher Krankenstand von Leiharbeitnehmern - Leiharbeit kein Zukunftsmodell

Gesundheitsreport 2011. Aufgrund stärkerer körperlicher und psychischer
Belastung sind Leiharbeiter demnach generell häufiger arbeitsunfähig als
konventionell Beschäftigte. Für Detlef Wetzel, Zweiter Vorsitzender der IG
Metall, zeigt das einmal mehr: "Leiharbeit ist kein Zukunftsmodell für

arbeitsunfähig als Beschäftigte in anderen Branchen. So sei 2010 jeder
Leiharbeiter in Deutschland durchschnittlich 15 Tage krankgeschrieben
gewesen. Bei "konventionellen Arbeitnehmern" seien es hingegen gut 3,5
Tage weniger gewesen. Die Ursache für den erhöhten Krankenstand sehen die Autoren der TK hauptsächlich in den oftmals körperlich belastenden
Tätigkeiten für die Leiharbeiter eingesetzt werden. Etwa ein Drittel der
Differenz sei allerdings auf die Beschäftigungsform Leiharbeit an sich
zurückzuführen. Angesichts finanzieller Unsicherheit und fehlender
Zukunftsperspektiven - nur sieben Prozent der vorher arbeitslosen
Leiharbeiter werden in eine Festanstellung übernommen - litten viele
Leiharbeiter unter Existenzängsten. Und so gehörten 2010 laut TK
psychische Störungen zu den Hauptursachen für Fehlzeiten??

Beschäftigungs-?Boom? vor allem bei atypischen Beschäftigungsverhältnissen und bei der Leiharbeit

Streichorgien in der Arbeitsmarktpolitik rückgängig machen

Zu einer Studie der Bundesagentur für Arbeit, wonach bei sinkenden Arbeitslosenzahlen keineswegs weniger Geld für die Arbeitsmarktpolitik benötigt werde, erklärt Katja Kipping, stellvertretende Vorsitzende der Partei DIE LINKE:

Die schwarz gelbe Bundesregierung sollte die Hinweise der Bundesagentur ernst nehmen. Wer wie das Haus von der Leyen meint, bei sinkenden Arbeitslosenzahlen könnten die Mittel für Arbeitsmarktpolitik rabiat beschnitten werden, richtet gerade Schaden bei jenen Erwerbslosen an, die besonders Unterstützung brauchen.

Tatsächlich plant die schwarz-gelbe Bundesregierung bis 2014 bei der Förderung der Erwerbslosen 20 Milliarden Euro zu streichen. Damit drohen Weiterbildungsmaßnahmen und Projekte öffentlich geförderter Beschäftigung auf der Strecke zu bleiben, die vor allem Langzeiterwerbslosen zugute kommen. Bereits die bisherigen Kürzungen der Bundesregierung wirken sich fatal aus. Im Juli dieses Jahres gab es gegenüber dem Vorjahr 40 Prozent weniger Erwerbslose, die eine berufliche Weiterbildung begonnen haben. Zudem stehen aufgrund der massiven Einschnitte bei der öffentlich geförderten Beschäftigung schon jetzt viele wichtige soziale und kulturelle Projekte vor dem Aus.

Noch ist der Bundeshaushalt für 2012 nicht verabschiedet, noch können weitere falsche Weichenstellungen vermieden werden. Deshalb fordere ich Frau von der Leyen auf, die von ihr geplanten Streichorgien in der Arbeitsmarktpolitik umgehend zurückziehen.

So wird zwar einerseits die Kritik an der Macht der Finanzmärkte mit den Ratingagenturen und der bisher unterbliebenen Finanzmarktregulierungen zu Recht geübt, - aber dann 'vergallopiert' sich der Autor in dieser 'generellen' Schuld 'der' Banken und kommt auf das schreckliche Ergebnis gerade den deutschen Finanzminister Schäuble mit seiner 'sanften Umschuldung' unterstützen zu wollen, was wieder ein gravierender Irrtum ist - und so leider wieder einmal die 'linke' Kritik den 'Rechten' so richtig falsch in die Hände arbeitet, die zwar einerseits die Banken unreguliert weiter laufen lassen - so quasi als 'heilige Märkte', die unberührbar bleiben (= insoweit ist die Kritik ja richtig) - und dann wieder die 'Falschen' zur Kasse bitten wollen (= insoweit ist diese 'Umschuldungsforderung' schlecht und voller Risiken: z.B. http://www.wissen.de/wde/generator/wissen/services/nachrichten/ftd/PW/50216902.html ). Anstatt eben endlich etwas gegen diese Märkte politisch zu unternehmen und die Finanzmärkte dadurch außen vor lassen, dass diese Staatsschulden in festverzinsliche Eurobonds umgeschichtet werden , wie es das Europäische Parlament gegen die Bundesregierung schon beschlossen hat, und bleibt weiter bei der gefährlichen Position 'unserer' Bundesregierung - und wird jetzt auch - wieder einmal - von links unterstützt. Nach der Durchsetzung der Eurobonds haben die Ratingagenturen auch nichts mehr zu sagen! Punkt aus!?

'Das deutsche Spardiktat stößt in der EU auf wachsenden Widerstand. Nach den Massenprotesten in Spanien und den jüngsten Demonstrationen in Griechenland, an denen sich Hunderttausende beteiligten, werden weitere Aktionen angekündigt; sie richten sich ausdrücklich gegen den sogenannten Euro-Stabilitätspakt. Neu ist, dass vor allem in Griechenland Berlin immer stärker zum Ziel der Proteste wird. Hintergrund ist, dass die griechische Krise auf einem strukturellen Ungleichgewicht in der Eurozone beruht, das Griechenland quasi zum Absatzmarkt für deutsche Waren herabstuft. Während die Italienerinnen und Italiener vor drei Tagen mit überwältigender Mehrheit deutlich gemacht haben, dass sie nicht nur ihres Ministerpräsidenten überdrüssig sind, sondern vor allem keinen Einstieg in strahlende Abenteuer akzeptieren, droht sich hierzulande die Erkenntnis festzusetzen, acht abgeschaltete Meiler seien bereits der schnellstmögliche Atomausstieg und die Energiewende würde von alleine kommen.

Keine Frage, auch wir von .ausgestrahlt freuen uns über jeden einzelnen der stillgelegten Reaktoren! Der im Übrigen ohne den Druck der Anti-Atom-Bewegung nicht gekommen wäre. Aber wir sind nicht bereit, das Risiko eines Weiterbetriebes von neun ebenfalls unsicheren Meilern bis ins Jahr 2022 hinzunehmen.

Deswegen halten wir es für enorm wichtig, die atomkritische Stimmung in der Bevölkerung für die kommenden Tage und Wochen weiter aufrecht zu erhalten. Ob bei der Zuspitzung des Protestes mit der Blockade des AKW Brokdorf, oder indem verhindert wird, dass der gesellschaftlichen Stimmung der Wind aus dem Segel genommen wird, wenn beispielsweise die Grünen erneut einem angeblichen Atomkonsens zustimmen.

Für ein wirkliches Stilllegen, und eine echte Energiewende!

Trotz Plagiatsaffäre: Koch-Mehrin wird zur Forschungspolitikerin befördert

Silvana Koch-Mehrin, seit kurzem ohne Doktortitel, erhält in Brüssel ein neues Amt: Nach Informationen von SPIEGEL ONLINE wird die FDP-Abgeordnete, die selbst eine mangelhafte Forschungsarbeit ablieferte, Vollmitglied im Forschungsausschuss des Europaparlaments.

Das Plenum war an diesem Mittwochnachmittag rappelvoll, doch nur wenige Abgeordnete nahmen Notiz, als Parlaments-Vize-Präsident Gianni Pittella gegen 15 Uhr eine überraschende Personalie verkündete: Die FDP-Abgeordnete Silvana Koch-Mehrin wird Vollmitglied im Ausschuss für Industrie, Forschung und Energie. Eine Beförderung - vorher war sie stellvertretendes Mitglied in dem Gremium.

Damit ist die liberale Politikerin auch zuständig für die Forschungspolitik der EU. Laut Homepage des Europaparlaments kümmern sich die Mitglieder des Ausschusses um die "Verbreitung und Auswertung wissenschaftlicher Erkenntnisse'. [?]

'Stuttgart hat eine offene Wunde. Sie schmerzt nicht jeden. Sie tut denen nicht mehr weh, die ihre Ruhe und Stuttgart 21 wollen. Jener Rentner, der vergangenen September im Schlosspark von einem Wasserwerfer fast blind geschossen wurde, spürt sie noch. Auch jene, die sich am 30. September teils verprügelt fühlten, als wären sie Gegner eines autoritären Regimes. Niemand hat diese Wunde wirklich verarztet. Die Justiz könnte, wenn sie wollte. Es gab 158 Strafanzeigen gegen Polizisten und Demonstranten zum Schwarzen Donnerstag und ein einziges Verfahren gegen einen Polizeibeamten, das abgeschlossen ist. Seit dem 25. März 2011 gibt es einen rechtskräftigen Strafbefehl gegen einen Polizisten wegen Körperverletzung im Amt. Der Beamte hatte bei der Eskalation vom Schwarzen Donnerstag im Stuttgarter Schlosspark einer bereits am Boden sitzenden Frau Pfefferspray ins Gesicht gesprüht. Stuttgart 21: Die Bahn und die Demonstranten - seit fast einem Jahr beschäftigen sich die Medien intensiv mit dem Streit um diesen Bahnhof. Welcher Seite dabei bundesweit die Sympathien zufliegen, liegt auch immer an der jeweiligen Berichterstattung. Anfangs hatte die Bahn die Deutungshoheit - dann waren es die Demonstranten - und nun, nach der von Heiner Geissler verordneten Ruhepause, ist wieder die Bahn obenauf.
