Der Vorsitzende der LINKEN, Klaus Ernst, übt scharfe Kritik an den jüngsten Äußerungen von Angela Merkel, die Renten- und Urlaubsregelungen in anderen europäischen Ländern als zu großzügig kritisiert hatte. Ernst wirft Merkel das Schüren antieuropäischer Stimmungen vor und hält eine 'neue europäische Verfassungsidee' für notwendig. Er erklärt:

Merkel macht Europapolitik nicht als Kanzlerin sondern als Parteichefin. Ihr Vorstoß provoziert antideutsche Stimmungsmache in Europa und antieuropäische Ressentiments in Deutschland. Wenn die Menschen Europa mit Schrumpflöhnen, Schrumpfrenten und längeren Arbeitszeiten identifizieren, dann hat die europäische Idee keine Zukunft. So gewöhnt man den Menschen Europa ab. Das ist Politik unterhalb des Stammtischniveaus. In Europa leben Europäer und keine Euros. Merkel muss in der nächsten Woche vor dem Parlament Stellung dazu nehmen, ob sie Europa weiter über die Stammtische regieren will, oder ob sie selbst Verantwortung für ein Europa übernehmen will, in dem die Lebensqualität auf breiter Front steigt und nicht sinkt. In Griechenland und Portugal müssen die Banken und die Millionäre zur Kasse gebeten werden, und nicht die kleinen Leute. Wir brauchen eine neue europäische Verfassungsidee. Das Recht auf gute Arbeit und soziale Sicherheit muss auf dem Kontinent zum unantastbaren und universellen Grundrecht werden.

Kanzlerin kneift

Die Vorsitzende der LINKEN, Gesine Lötzsch erneuert die Kritik an Bundeskanzlerin Merkel wegen des Krisenmanagements in der Euro- Krise. Sie erklärt:

Angela Merkel spricht von den Griechen oder Portugiesen als Sorgenkindern der Europäischen Union, obwohl sie weiß, dass die Euro-Krise durch die Banken verursacht wurde. Sie will den Blick auf die wahren Schuldigen der Krise durch ihre boshafte Rhetorik verstellen. Wer die Euro-Krise wirklich beenden will, der muss eine Finanztransaktionssteuer einführen. Denn nur so müssen diejenigen die Kosten der Krise tragen, die sie verursacht haben. Doch genau auf diese Steuer will die Kanzlerin nun verzichten. Das ist der Kniefall der Kanzlerin vor Ackermann & Co. Es ist doch völlig absurd, dass die Kanzlerin die Sozialstandards in Europa auf niedrigstem Niveau angleichen will, aber nichts unternimmt, um die Unternehmenssteuer in Europa anzugleichen. Es war unverantwortlich, Irland unter den Rettungsschirm zu nehmen, ohne die Anhebung der unverschämt niedrigen Unternehmenssteuer in Irland durchzusetzen. Die Kanzlerin kneift immer wieder, wenn es darum geht, die wirklich Schuldigen der Finanzkrise zur Kasse zu bitten. Offensichtlich ist die Abhängigkeit der CDU von der Bankenwelt so groß, dass die Kanzlerin bevorzugt die beschimpft, die kein Geld haben.

Der ESM-Vertrag ist eine Kriegserklärung an alle Europäer, die noch auf ehrliche Weise ihr Geld verdienen!

Zum von der Bundesregierung vorgelegten Vertrag zur Einrichtung des europäischen Stabilitätsmechanismus (ESM) erklärt die Vorsitzende der Partei DIE LINKE, Gesine Lötzsch:

Der ESM-Vertrag ist ein Frontalangriff auf die Demokratie in Deutschland und ganz Europa. Es sind im Vertrag keine Kontrollen durch den Bundestag, das Europäische Parlament oder durch Rechnungshöfe vorgesehen. Der Vertrag ist eine Einladung zu Korruption und Verschwendung von Steuergeldern. Die Finanzierung der Anteile des ESM soll aus Steuergeldern erfolgen und nicht aus einer Finanztransaktionssteuer. Die Verursacher der Finanzkrise werden nicht zur Beseitigung der Folgen der Krise herangezogen. Sie erhalten mit dem ESM-Vertrag einen Rettungsschirm für ihre Spekulationen. Die Beteiligung privater Gläubiger wird 'angestrebt'. 'Wichtige private Anleger (sollen) dazu 'ermutigt' werden, ihr Engagement beizubehalten.' Das ist der Kniefall vor der Bankenlobby. Ihr Geld soll gerettet werden und zwar zu 100%. Die Ausfälle sollen die Steuerzahler bezahlen. 'Die Gewährung aller erforderlichen Finanzhilfen im Rahmen des Mechanismus wird strengen Auflagen unterliegen.' heißt es im Vertrag. Im Vertrag ist nicht die Rede von intelligenten Auflagen, sondern nur strengen. Was strenge und dumme Auflagen bewirken, haben wir in Griechenland gesehen. Sie haben dazu geführt, dass Griechenland seine Schulden nicht zurückzahlen kann. DIE LINKE lehnt den vorgelegten ESM-Vertrag ab und fordert einen Rettungsschirm, der aus einer europäischen Finanztransaktionssteuer finanziert wird. Es kann nicht sein, dass sich die Regierungen immer nur beim Sozialabbau einigen, aber nicht bei der Einführung einer Finanztransaktionssteuer. Regierungen die so schamlos die Interessen der Banken vertreten, müssen abgewählt werden.

Mindestlohn-Debatte: Deutschland am Pranger

'Europäische Gewerkschaften rufen zum Kampf gegen Niedriglohnstrategie auf. Sie wollen nicht am deutschen Wesen genesen. 'Lohn- und Sozialdumping dürfen nicht auch noch als Exportschlager in die EU verkauft werden', warnt DGB-Vorstandsmitglied Annelie Buntenbach. [Antwort] Ich denke ja, auch weil es gelungen ist, Wege zu finden, wie sich die klassischen Anliegen nach Einkommenssteigerungen und Mehrbeschäftigung mit Umweltaspekten verbinden lassen, etwa in der Energietechnik, wo viele Arbeitsplätze entstehen. Wenn wir die Wirtschaft und die Gesellschaft tatsächlich ökologisch umbauen wollen, dann bedeutet das viel Arbeit. Deswegen wird bei diesem Umbau zunächst auch mehr Wirtschaftswachstum stattfinden, das lässt sich gar nicht vermeiden?'

Mai 2011, die 440 regionalen Hartz-IV-Jobcenter durch "permanente Leistungsvergleiche" einer strengen Effizienzkontrolle unterziehen, erklärt Katja Kipping, sozialpolitische Sprecherin der Fraktion, stellvertretende Vorsitzende der Partei DIE LINKE:

Hintergrund für diese sogenannte Effizienzkontrolle ist, dass im Zug des Kompromisses zwischen SPD und Bundesregierung zu den Hartz-IV-Regelsätzen, Milliardenkürzungen auf die Bundesagentur für Arbeit abgewälzt wurden. Angesichts dieser Einschnitte kann die angebliche Effizienzkontrolle nur eins bedeuten: Der Einspardruck auf die Beschäftigten wird erhöht. Schon heute stehen die Beschäftigten der BA unter großen Druck, bei den Leistungen für Erwerbslose zu kürzen. Dies führt in der Praxis dazu, dass zunehmend mehr Sanktionen verhängt werden, von denen sich viele später als fehlerhaft und ungerechtfertigt erweisen. DIE LINKE fordert die schwarz-gelbe Bundesregierung auf, diesen grundrechtswidrigen Einsparzwang abzubauen, statt zu erweitern. Bedürftige Erwerbslose dürfen nicht zum Sparschwein für von der Leyens Image-Aufbesserung werden.

Mit seinem Urteil vom 15. Dezember 2010 hat das Bundessozialgericht Kassel (BSG, 15. Dezember 2010, Az. B 14 AS 61/09 R) diese Verfahrensweise rückwirkend zum 1 Januar 2006 untersagt. Viele betroffene Hartz-IV Bezieher haben daraufhin einen Überprüfungsantrag (§44 SGB X) bei ihrem Jobcenter gestellt und Recht bekommen.
