Nach dem Willen von Union und FDP, diesmal geäußert vom rechtspolitischen Sprecher der CDU-Fraktion im Brandenburger Landtag, Danny Eichelbaum, sollen ALG II-Empfänger für Klagen an Sozialgerichten eine generelle Gebühr von 75 Euro zahlen. Dies begründet er damit, dass 10% bis 20% der Klagen unberechtigt wären, diese sollten so deutlich reduziert werden, um den Sozialgerichten die Arbeit zu erleichtern. Schon beim überfliegen dieser Aussagen erweist sich die von Herrn Eichelbaum geäußerte Begründung als äußerst unlogisch, denn die Sozialgerichte werden nicht durch die 10% bis 20% der unberechtigten Klagen belastet, sondern durch die 80% bis 90% der erfolgreichen Klagen. Also steckt doch, wie so oft, ein ganz anderer Grund dahinter.

80.000 Hartz IV-Betroffene erhalten kein Elterngeld mehr

Seit Jahresbeginn erhalten Mütter und Väter im Hartz IV-Bezug kein Elterngeld mehr. Insgesamt sind rund 275.000 Menschen von den Elterngeldkürzungen betroffen. Darunter sind laut dem Bundesfamilienministerium rund 80.000 Menschen, die auf das Arbeitslosengeld II angewiesen sind. Hartz IV: Regierung erhöht weiter Druck auf erwerbslose ALG II-Empfänger

Flu jab: Up to a million children have been given flu vaccines containing mercury

Up to a million under-fives have been inoculated against the flu virus with a controversial vaccine containing poisonous mercury. Pandemrix has been given to almost a quarter of all healthy babies and young children as well as thousands of older children with health problems. Inquiries by the Sunday Express reveal it contains a preservative made with a form of mercury that was phased out of childhood vaccines in 2004 after fears about its safety. The preservative, called thimerosal, has been linked with autism and developmental disorders in children and was withdrawn from childhood vaccines in the United States and parts of Europe 10 years ago. 86 per cent of the 3,310 reports of suspected side effects to all flu vaccines, including 29 deaths, have been linked to GlaxoSmithKline's Pandemrix. Dr Richard Halvorsen said: ?There is enough convincing evidence linking thimerosal with developmental disorders and learning problems in individual ch ildren to warrant its removal from any childhood vaccine. It is irresponsible to administer a jab with little proven benefit which contains potentially harmful toxic substances.?

Bertelsmann als Weichspüler einer OECD-Studie über wachsende Ungleichheit

?Unter der Überschrift ?Deutschland ist ungerechter als viele andere Länder? berichtete gestern (3.1.2011) tagesschau.de über eine Studie der Bertelsmann Stiftung, wonach es in Deutschland deutlich ungerechter zugeht als in vielen anderen Industrieländern. Bei einem Vergleich von 31 Mitgliedstaaten der OECD landete unser Land nur auf Platz 15. So weit, so schlecht. Statt aber über das Original der OECD-Studie ?Growing Unequal?: Income Distribution and Poverty in OECD Countries [PDF - 251 KB] zu berichten, erspart sich die ARD die Kosten von 70 Euro und vor allem die Mühe der Auswertung und übernimmt eine weichgespülte Interpretation der Bertelsmann Stiftung. Dabei hätte man den Kernsatz der OECD-Studie im Original sogar auf deutsch nachlesen können: ?Seit dem Jahr 2000 haben in Deutschland Einkommensungleichheit und Armut stärker zugenommen als in jedem anderen OECD Land. Aus dem Text: ?? Die DGB-Gewerkschaften sind kein monolithischer Block. Einige waren von Anfang an gegen jeden Tarifvertrag, weil das AÜG die Gleichbehandlung ja eigentlich festschreibt. Aber es gibt auch ein paar Betriebsratsfürsten, die finden auch heute noch gut, dass es Leiharbeiter ohne Equal Pay gibt. Das sagt jetzt selbstverständlich keiner mehr laut ? auch weil sich die beiden Größten, IG Metall und ver.di, offen gegen Leiharbeit wenden und ihre Tarifpolitik entsprechend gestalten. Aber mancher Betriebsratsfürst hat sich klammheimlich gefreut, in der Krise nicht an die Stammbelegschaften gehen zu müssen. Hier gab es überraschend wenig Massenentlassungen. Die meisten krisengebeutelten Betriebe haben die Stammbelegschaft nur in Kurzarbeit geschickt, während die Leiharbeit sofort auf null Prozent gesetzt wurde. Diese menschenverachtende ?Pufferfunktion?, die Leiharbeiter haben, wurde ja voll ausgespielt. Das ?Jobwunder Deutschland? ist selbstverständlich ein Stück weit auch diesem zynischen Modell geschuldet. In der Krise wurden über 100 000 Leiharbeiter entlassen, das taucht in kaum einer Statistik auf. Jetzt werden die neuen Jobs überwiegend mit Leiharbeitern besetzt, und das wird das erfasst und macht das ?Jobwunder Deutschland? aus??

Die Vereinte Dienstleistungsgewerkschaft (ver.di) hat eine Hotline geschaltet, um die bis zu 280.000 Leiharbeitskräfte dabei zu unterstützen, Nachforderungen bezüglich ihrer Vergütungen der vergangenen Jahre geltend zu machen. Unter der Telefonnummer 0180-2220066 (aud dem deutschen Festnetz 6 Cent pro Anruf; aus dem Mobilfunknetz maximal 42 Cent pro Minute) können Betroffene sich von ver.di-Experten unverbindlich über die dafür erforderlichen Schritte beraten lassen. Für Mitglieder übernimmt ver.di Rechtschutz.

Geprägt wird die Naturkatastrophen-Bilanz des vergangenen Jahres von einer Häufung von schweren Erdbeben, wie sie in den letzten Jahrzehnten nur selten zu beobachten war. Die hohe Anzahl von Wetterkatastrophen sowie Temperaturrekorde global und in den verschiedensten Regionen der Erde sind weitere Indizien dafür, dass der Klimawandel voranschreitet.
