Bundesregierung untätig gegen massive Strompreiserhöhung

''Die massive Strompreiserhöhung zum Jahreswechsel ist ein Armutszeugnis für die Bundesregierung. Es fehlt jeglicher politischer Wille, die Energiewende sozial ausgewogen zu gestalten'', erklärt die stellvertretende Vorsitzende der Partei DIE LINKE, Caren Lay, anlässlich der Strompreiserhöhungen zum 1. Januar 2013 von durchschnittlich 12 Prozent. Lay weiter:

Die Strompreise schießen seit Jahren durch die Decke. Die Bundesregierung hat bisher nichts getan, um das zu verhindern. Trotz öffentlicher Bekundungen von Bundesumweltminister Altmaier, der die hohen Strompreise als ungerechtfertigt geißelte, gab es nicht einmal den Versuch, die Preissteigerung abzufangen oder gar zu deckeln. Stattdessen wurden immer neue Ausnahmeregelungen und Privilegien für die Großindustrie, Stromkonzerne und Netzbetreiber auf Kosten der privaten Stromkunden geschaffen.

Diese unsoziale Energiepolitik der Bundesregierung bedeutet nun für die 41 Millionen Haushalte in Deutschland Mehrkosten für Strom in Höhe von 17,8 Milliarden Euro. Immer wieder hat DIE LINKE im vergangenen Jahr Lösungswege aufgezeigt, die den Strompreis gesenkt hätten: Abschaffung der ungerechtfertigten Milliardengeschenke an die Großindustrie, Senkung der Stromsteuer, Einführung einer effektiven staatlichen Preisaufsicht. Die schwarz-gelbe Bundesregierung kann also nicht behaupten, dass die hohen Strompreise alternativlos sind.

Der DGB-Report 'Werkverträge in Bayern' schildert die Praxis einzelner Betriebe und Unternehmen mit Werkverträgen und verdeutlicht die Auswirkungen. Die Werkverträge sind nicht nur eine schwere Belastung für die Beschäftigten, sondern haben auch eine enorme, bislang eher unterschätzte Dimension für den Sozialstaat und den gesellschaftlichen Zusammenhalt.
