''Wer wie Umweltminister Altmaier aktuell massiv dafür sorgt, dass Energiekonzerne künftig ihre Haftungskosten für die Off-Shore-Windparks zu 80 Prozent auf die Verbraucherinnen und Verbraucher abwälzen dürfen, sollte zum Thema steigende Energiepreise besser schweigen'', kommentiert die stellvertretende Parteivorsitzende der LINKEN, Caren Lay (MdB), Altmaiers Angriffe auf die Solarförderung. Lay erklärt weiter:

Jetzt ist aber mal genug: Die Bundesregierung denkt sich immer neue Geschenke an die Großindustrie und die Energiekonzerne zu Lasten der Stromkunden aus und schiebt die Schuld für steigende Energiepreise auf die Solarförderung. Umweltminister Altmaier soll die Ablenkungsmanöver lassen und dafür sorgen, dass die Energiewende voran kommt und sozial abgefedert ist. Energie muss für Privathaushalte bezahlbar sein. Ein Gesetzesentwurf des FDP-geführten Justizministeriums sieht vor, den Zugang zur Beratungs- und Prozesskostenhilfe für Menschen mit geringem Einkommen einzuschränken. Die von der Bundesregierung überarbeitete Fassung liegt mittlerweile im Bundesrat und im Bundestag vor. Verschlechterungen gibt es vor allem an drei Punkten: Für einkommensarme Menschen soll es keinen ungehinderten Zugang zu einem Rechtsanwalt mehr geben, stattdessen muss ein Rechtspfleger den Antrag vorab bewilligen. Die Einkommensschwelle für den Zugang zu Rechtshilfen soll um rund 100 Euro in Richtung Hartz-IV-Niveau gesenkt werden. Die Kostenrückzahlung soll auf sechs Jahre verlängert werden. Diese Maßnahmen werden von Juristen- und Erwerbslosenorganisationen, Sozial- und Frauenverbänden und der Dienstleistungsgewerkschaft verdi scharf kritisiert.
