Generalrevision von Hartz IV muss auf die Tagesordnung

Zum heutigen Urteil des Bundessozialgerichts erklärt die Vorsitzende der Partei DIE LINKE, Katja Kipping:

Das Bundessozialgericht (BSG) hält die Neuberechnung der Regelsätze der Hartz-IV-Reform von 2011 für verfassungskonform. Ich bedauere die heutige Entscheidung des BSG. Unabhängig von diesem Urteil liegt der Ball jetzt in Karlsruhe beim Bundesverfassungsgericht, da eine Richtervorlage des Landessozialgerichts Berlin dort anhängig ist. Nach unseren Vorstellungen ist der Hartz-IV-Regelsatz weder politisch noch fachlich vertretbar, da er die soziokulturelle Teilhabe der Betroffenen nicht garantiert, sondern sie zu einem Leben in Armut verdammt. So sind beispielsweise im Regelsatz noch nicht einmal 20 Euro im Monat für Mobilität vorgesehen. Dafür kann man sich heute in kaum einer Großstadt ein Monatsticket leisten, und ein Auto ist überhaupt nicht im Regelsatz vorgesehen. DIE LINKE fordert deshalb eine Generalrevision von Hartz IV. Das Hartz-IV-System muss durch eine sanktionsfreie Mindestsicherung ersetzt werden. Wichtige Schritte dazu sind: die Erhöhung des Regelssatzes auf mindestens 500 Euro und die Abschaffung sowohl der Sanktionen, als auch des Konstrukts der Bedarfsgemeinschaften. Diese Reform wäre finanzierbar, wenn endlich auch Reichtum in Deutschland gerecht besteuert werden würde.

Die Bundesanstalt warnt nun vor Langzeitfolgen, und die können teuer werden. Jeder zweite Erwerbstätige geht in Deutschland zur Arbeit, auch wenn er krank ist. Das ist das Ergebnis einer Studie der Bundesanstalt für Arbeitsschutz und Arbeitsmedizin und des Bundesinstituts für Berufsbildung. Sie ließen in der Erwerbstätigenbefragung 2011/2012 20 000 Menschen danach befragen, wie oft sie in den vergangenen zwölf Monaten krank zur Arbeit gegangen seien. Im Durchschnitt gaben die Befragten 11,5 Tage an. Demgegenüber stehen 17,4 Tage, an denen sie nach eigenen Angaben krank zu hause blieben, wie die Bundesanstalt

The deep Greenland Sea is warming faster than the World Ocean

Recent warming of the Greenland Sea Deep Water is about ten times higher than warming rates estimated for the global ocean. Scientists from the Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research recently published these findings in the journal Geophysical Research Letters. For their study, they analysed temperature data from 1950 to 2010 in the abyssal Greenland Sea, which is an ocean area located just to the south of the Arctic Ocean.

The percentage of the earth s land surface covered by extreme heat in summer has soared in recent decades, from less than 1 percent in the years before 1980 to as much as 13 percent in recent years, according to a new scientific paper. The change is so drastic, the paper says, that scientists can claim with near certainty that events such as the Texas heat wave last year, the Russian heat wave of 2010 and the European heat wave of 2003 would not have happened without the planetary warming caused by human release of greenhouse gases...

From Cape Hatteras, N.C., to just north of Boston, sea levels are rising much faster than they are around the globe, putting one of the world s most costly coasts in danger of flooding, government researchers report. U.S. Geological Survey scientists call the 600-mile swath a 'hot spot' for climbing sea levels caused by global warming. Along the region, the Atlantic Ocean is rising at an annual rate three times to four times faster than the global average since 1990, according to the study published Sunday in the journal Nature Climate Change...

Dina Rasor, Truthout: ''In last week s column, I laid out the problem of nonprofit organizations, especially 501(c)4, 'social welfare' organizations being used to channel money toward campaigns while keeping their donors secret. In fact, for all the ink spilled concerning super PAC committees, which must reveal donors, according to iWatch News, these nonprofits have been spending more money on the 2010 campaigns than the super PACs. The trend is now to start a super PAC and a C4 organization at the same time, then have the skittish donors, especially corporations that don't want the public to know that they are backing specific candidates, use that money for campaign ads done by the C4 and give some of the money from the C4 to the super PAC, which still hides the original source of the money.''
