Zum Brandbrief der europäischen Bankenaufsicht EBA an den Rat der europäischen Finanz- und Wirtschaftsminister erklärt die Vorsitzende der Partei DIE LINKE, Gesine Lötzsch:

Die europäische Bankenaufsicht EBA macht sich Sorgen um die geringe Kapitalausstattung europäischer Banken und fordert, dass in Zukunft der Rettungsfonds Geld direkt an notleidende Banken geben darf. Das hatten wir alles schon einmal. Erst die Banken retten und regulieren können wir später, das war das Motto der CDU-SPD-Koalition. Das Ergebnis ist: Die Banken wurden gerettet, doch die Finanzmärkte wurden nicht reguliert. Deshalb steht uns jetzt die nächste Finanzkrise ins Haus. Geld für Banken darf es überhaupt nur noch geben, wenn gleichzeitig die Regeln auf den Finanzmärkten drastisch geändert werden. Die neoliberalen Regierungen scheuen sich, neue Regeln durchzusetzen, weil sie sich als erstes aus der finanziellen Abhängigkeit der Finanzindustrie lösen müssten. Es müssen endlich wieder Parlamente und nicht Rating-Agenturen über das Schicksal Europas entscheiden. DIE LINKE fordert die Bundesregierung auf, die Forderung der europäischen Bankenaufsicht zurückzuweisen und dem Bundestag sofort ein Maßnahmepaket zur Regulierung der Finanzmärkte vorzulegen.

Die Euro-Krise wird zum Staatsstreich der Finanzmärkte und die Bundesregierung spielt mit. DIE LINKE lehnt eine Transferunion für Banken ab, kommentiert der Vorsitzende der Partei DIE LINKE, Klaus Ernst, die Entscheidung der Bundesregierung zur Ausweitung und Reform des Euro-Rettungsschirms EFSF.

Die EFSF soll zukünftig Kredite an den Finanzmärkten aufnehmen, um Staatsanleihen zu kaufen und Banken direkt stützen. Die Verursacher und Profiteure der Krise werden geschont, die Bevölkerungsmehrheit in Europa bezahlt mit Rettungsringen aus Blei und mit dem schlimmsten Sozialabbau der Nachkriegsgeschichte. Das wird zu einem neuen Crash führen. Das Königsrecht der Parlamente - die Haushaltssouveränität - wird zudem beschnitten. In Frankreich verkünden Superreiche sie würden gern mehr zahlen, aber Sarkozy lässt sie nicht. In Italien streicht Berlusconi die Solidaritätsabgabe für Spitzenverdiener. In Deutschland hingegen gibt es noch nicht einmal eine Debatte über eine Krisenabgabe für Vermögende. DIE LINKE fordert eine EU-weite Vermögensabgabe, ein Aufbauprogramm sowie eine Trennung der Staatsfinanzen von den Finanzmärkten. Eine öffentliche Bank sollte den Euro-Staaten direkte Kredite gewähren, um ständige Interventionen auf Kosten der Steuerzahler zu verhindern. Kapitalspritzen für Banken darf es nur bei Verstaatlichung und Regulierung der Institute geben. Darüber hinaus brauchen wir eine Verringerung der außenwirtschaftlichen Ungleichgewichte durch höhere Löhne in Deutschland, um neue Schuldenkrisen zu verhindern. Gleichwohl muss es bei Hilfen auch Auflagen geben, etwa eine höhere Besteuerung der Superreichen.

Nicht die Demokratie aushebeln, sondern die Börsen entmachten

Zur geplanten Entmachtung des Bundestages durch die Bundesregierung bei der Ausgestaltung des Euro-Rettungsschirms erklärt die Vorsitzende der Partei DIE LINKE, Gesine Lötzsch:

Der Finanzminister warnt die vom Volk gewählten Parlamentarier, ihre verfassungsgemäßen Rechte in Anspruch zu nehmen. Damit überschreitet er seine Kompetenzen. Sein Argument, dass der Rettungsfonds EFSF schnell auf Entwicklungen an den Finanzmärkten reagieren muss, zeigt, dass die Bundesregierung das Primat der Politik an die Börsen abgegeben hat. Die Börse und nicht die Politik gibt den Takt vor, das ist verhängnisvoll. In einem demokratischen Parlament wird nie so schnell entschieden werden können, wie an der undemokratischen Börse. Den Bundestag auf die Geschwindigkeit der Börse eintakten zu wollen, hieße, auf Demokratie ganz zu verzichten. Geld für Banken darf es überhaupt nur noch geben, wenn gleichzeitig die Regeln auf den Finanzmärkten drastisch geändert werden. Die neoliberalen Regierungen scheuen sich, neue Regeln durchzusetzen, weil sie sich zuallererst aus der finanziellen Abhängigkeit der Finanzindustrie lösen müssten. Dadurch würden endlich wieder Parlamente undnicht Börsen und Hedgefonds über das Schicksal Europas entscheiden! DIE LINKE fordert die Bundesregierung auf, nicht die Demokratie auszuhebeln, sondern die Finanzmärkte zu entschleunigen. Dafür muss die Bundesregierung dem Bundestag sofort ein Maßnahmepaket zur Regulierung der Finanzmärkte vorlegen. Ein erster Schritt zur Entschleunigung der Finanzmärkte ist die sofortige Einführung einer Finanztransaktionssteuer.
