A New World War for a New World Order?

By Jooneed Khan

Confronted with a declining World Order it can no longer control, does the West want to re-assert its will through a new world war, which this time would be really global?

May Day rallies around the world in pictures

Protests have been held around the world on International Workers' Day. Rallies in Asia demanded wage increases, and marches in Europe opposed austerity measures. Thousands of workers protested in the Philippines, Indonesia and Taiwan. In Moscow, about 100,000 people, including the president, Dmitry Medvedev, and president-elect, Vladimir Putin, joined the main May Day march through the city centre.

Gewerkschaften in Deutschland

1. Mai 2012: Richtige Gewerkschaftskritik und falsches Lob

Gewerkschaften: Zum 1.

Es ist das Europa made by EU, made by Troika (EU-Kommission, EZB, IWF).

Look at these photographs. See the eager faces among the children at the school, they could be anyone s kids at any moment in America. And the baby, so precious and new, reflecting the light of his proud parents, the hope of everyone around him. Now imagine that the school is attacked by Predator drones launching Hellfire missiles directly into the classrooms. ... According to the Bureau of Investigative Journalism, there have been upwards of 350 U.S. military and CIA drone strikes on Yemen and Pakistan since 2004, with the majority in Yemen (20 to 36) occurring in the last two months. As if their children were less valuable than our own, most Americans either ignore or remain passive-aggressively ignorant of the civilian carnage associated with these so-called 'targeted strikes'...

The death penalty is a fact of life in the United States. Despite the actions of many well-intentioned people, these premeditated murders continue to take place at a shameful pace. The fact that the death penalty does exist has brought many young people to question the morality of a system that supports and even champions execution. Unlike the other form of murder carried out by the state, war, the death penalty is harder to rationalize for many people.

Big Moneys' Effect on Big Media

Bill Moyers, Moyers & Co.: ''Big money and big media have coupled to create a ?Disney World' of democracy in which TV shows, televised debates, even news coverage is being dumbed down, just as the volume is being turned up. The result is a public certainly more entertained, but less informed and personally involved than they should be, says Marty Kaplan, director of USC's Norman Lear Center and an entertainment industry veteran. Bill Moyers talks with Kaplan about how taking news out of the journalism box and placing it in the entertainment box is hurting democracy and allowing special interest groups to manipulate the system.''
