Imperiales Gehabe gegenüber Syrien ablegen

Zu den jüngsten Äußerungen des französischen Präsidenten Francoise Hollande zum Syrien-Konflikt erklärt das Mitglied des Parteivorstands der LINKEN, Wolfgang Gehrcke:

Syrische Politik muss von Bürgerinnen und Bürgern dieses Landes gemacht und nicht von außen dem Land übergestülpt werden. Es gehört zur Tragik des syrischen Bürgerkrieges, dass er an vielen Orten sehr deutlich den Charakter eines Stellvertreterkrieges ausländischer Mächte, wie zum Beispiel Saudi Arabien und Katar, Türkei, Frankreich oder Großbritannien und USA, trägt. Unverkennbar paart sich das mit ethnischen und religiösen ''Begründungen''. Lediglich die linke, demokratische Opposition in Syrien lehnt grundsätzlich Gewalt, äußere Einmischung und religiöse Aufsplitterung des Landes ab. Die Aufgabe der Vereinten Nationen und ihres jetzigen Sonderbeauftragten Brahimi liegt ausschließlich darin, Bedingungen für einen Waffenstillstand, für ein Ende der Gewalt und die Umsetzung humanitärer Hilfe zu schaffen. Der Vorstoß des neuen französischen Präsidenten Hollande, jetzt sofort eine Übergangsregierung einzusetzen, verschlechtert die Bedingungen für einen tatsächlichen Übergang zum demokratischen Wandel. Auch Hollande fällt es schwer, altes, imperiales Gehabe abzulegen. Alle syrischen Kräfte, die sich auf den Vorstoß von Hollande einlassen, werden den Geruch nicht loswerden, in Kooperation mit ausländischen Mächten zu agieren. Deutschland darf sich auf keinen Fall auf diesen Vorschlag einlassen. Bereits heute agiert Deutschland als Teil der ''Freunde Syriens'', als Berater einer Wirtschaftspolitik ''nach Assad'', gleichgültig ob es von staatlichen oder "staatsnahen" Institutionen vorgetragen wird, jenseits des völkerrechtlich Akzeptablen. Wer wie Deutschland am 1. September den Vorsitz im Weltsicherheitsrat übernimmt, sollte völkerrechtlich einwandfrei agieren. Um das zu erreichen, muss auch Deutschland noch sehr an sich arbeiten.

Wolfgang Gehrcke, Mitglied des Parteivorstands der LINKEN, erklärt zu den Drohungen von US-Präsident Barack Obama mit einer Militärintervention in Syrien:

US-Präsident Obama droht Syrien mit einer Militärintervention. Völlig in der Tradition vorangegangener Präsidenten macht er Krieg zu einem Mittel für seinen Wahlkampf. Bush sen. gewann seinen Wahlkampf mit dem Irak-Krieg Nr. 1, Bush jun. mit dem Irak-Krieg Nr. 2. Obama will seine Wiederwahl mit der Drohung gegen Syrien befördern. Die Abfolge ist gleich: erst die Lügen über Massenvernichtungswaffen, dann die Kriegsdrohung und schließlich der Krieg. Hunderttausende Menschen haben diese zynische, menschenverachtende Wahlkampftour mit ihrem Leben bezahlen müssen. Kriegsfördernd und zuspitzend verhält sich auch die Bundesregierung. Beim zweiten Irak-Krieg waren es BND-Agenten, die der ''Koalition der Willigen'' Zieldaten lieferten, heute liefert ein Spionageschiff der Bundeswehr rechtswidrig und hinter dem Rücken des Bundestages Informationen aus Syrien. Die Partei DIE LINKE ruft zu Demonstrationen, Mahnwachen und Kundgebungen am 1. September, dem weltweiten Antikriegstag auf. Setzt dem drohenden Krieg Widerstand entgegen! Präsident Obama droht mit Krieg. Er sollte den Friedensnobelpreis besser zurück geben.
