Living by the sword

Authority!
by Timothy J Taylor

'Those who live by the sword will likely die by the sword a wise old saying goes. It was proved once again in Afghanistan last week when a U.S. military Chinook helicopter went down killing 30 elite American special operations soldiers. The U.S. military, and most of the U.S. media are still dancing and dodging around the facts and real cause behind the disaster; even though the Taliban took credit immediately...

Those 30 American soldiers died for nothing

Future of Freedom Foundation
by Jacob G. Hornberger

08/12/11

After those 30 American soldiers were recently killed in Afghanistan when their Chinook helicopter was downed by Afghan insurgents, the commander of the international mission in Afghanistan, Gen. John R. Allen, stated, 'All of those killed in this operation were true heroes who had already given so much in the defense of freedom.' Freedom? Does Allen really believe such nonsense, or is it just the standard pabulum that the general feels he must express in order to assuage the feelings of the families and friends of the victims?
