"Der Sozialbericht für Deutschland zeichnet ein Bild des grassierenden Sozialabbaus, den die Bundesregierungen der vergangenen Jahre extensiv betrieben haben", kritisiert die Parteivorsitzende der LINKEN, Katja Kipping, den heute vorgestellten Datenreport von Sozialwissenschaftlern und Statistikern:

Der Bericht belegt deutlich, dass das Armutsrisiko in Deutschland zunimmt und unter älteren genauso wie unter jungen Menschen präsent ist, Arme sterben eher als Gutverdienende. Dieses Fazit der Wissenschaftler stellt den politisch Verantwortlichen ein schlechtes Zeugnis aus. Die mit dem Sanktionssystem von Hartz IV, Niedriglöhnen, Leiharbeit und Werkverträgen erkaufte sogenannte Wettbewerbsfähigkeit Deutschlands schlägt voll zurück. Die Ursachen für diese Entwicklungen waren vorhersehbar und haben die Regierungen von Rot-Grün, Schwarz-Rot und Schwarz-Gelb gelegt und zu verantworten. Nach den Verlautbarungen aus den Koalitionsverhandlungen von Union und SPD wird auch die künftige Bundesregierung keine wirkliche Reform des Arbeitsmarktes in Angriff nehmen. Dieses politische Signal ist verheerend. Es reicht nicht, in Wahlprogrammen das Blaue von Himmel zu versprechen. Wir brauchen sofort Maßnahmen, die die Lücke zwischen Arm und Reich schließt und nicht weiter ausbaut. Ein flächendeckender gesetzlicher Mindestlohn von 8,50 Euro als Einstieg, eine Mindestsicherung von 1050 Euro und die Abschaffung des Sanktionssystems von Hartz-IV sind Standards, die Deutschland umgehend einführen muss.

Leben in Freiheit ohne Not und Furcht

Morgen wird der 65. Gedenktag zur Allgemeinen Erklärung der Menschenrechte begangen, die am 10. Dezember 1948 durch die Generalversammlung der Vereinten Nationen verabschiedet wurde. Dazu erklärt Katja Kipping, Vorsitzende der Partei DIE LINKE:

Menschenrechte sind keine Rechte, die man sich verdienen muss. Das trifft auf alle Menschenrechte zu, bürgerliche, politische, kulturelle, wirtschaftliche, soziale und auch auf das Recht auf soziale Sicherheit. Alle Menschen haben das Recht auf ein Leben "in Freiheit von Furcht und Not", wie es in der Präambel der Allgemeinen Erklärung der Menschenrechte steht. Armut und Ausgrenzung vom gesellschaftlichen Leben durch den Entzug von sozialen Leistungen sind nicht mit den Menschenrechten vereinbar. Deshalb ist auch die Petition von Inge Hannemann zur Abschaffung aller Sanktionen und Leistungseinschränkungen bei Hartz IV und in der Sozialhilfe zu unterstützen.

Kinderarmut steigt massiv an: Bremen und Mecklenburg-Vorpommern stehen an der Spitze
