Zu der von der Bundesregierung geplanten Regelsatzerhöhung bei Hartz IV um neun Euro erklärt die Parteivorsitzende der Partei DIE LINKE Katja Kipping:

Es ist zynisch, wenn man einem Menschen, der Durst hat, einen Tropfen Wasser anbietet. Die Ankündigung einer Regelsatzerhöhung von neun Euro bei den Grundsicherungen kurz vor der Bundestagswahl ist ein durchsichtiges Manöver. Die Betroffenen sollen mit einem Almosen abgespeist werden.

Wir brauchen endlich eine Mindestsicherung, die Armut wirklich verhindert. Deswegen wird DIE LINKE eine Konzeption einbringen, in dem keine Mindestsicherung mehr unter 1.050 Euro liegt. Kurzfristig müssen die Hartz-IV-Regelsätze auf 500 Euro erhöht und die Sanktionen endlich abgeschafft werden.

Zweithöchster Monatswert bei Sanktionen erreicht

Nachdem die Zahl der Sanktionen gegen Hartz IV-Bezieher deutlich gesunken war, erreichte sie im Mai ihren zweithöchsten Wert seit Einführung des Arbeitslosengeld II (ALG II) im Jahr 2005. Wie die 'Bild'-Zeitung berichtet, habe es im Mai mehr als 90.000 Strafen gegeben, die für die Betroffenen eine Kürzung der Hartz IV-Leistungen von durchschnittlich 109,91 Euro zur Folge hatten. Dünne Beweislage und fehlende Belege

'Kein Gericht der Welt würde auf der Grundlage einer so dünnen Beweislage eine Klage annehmen', kommentiert der stellvertretende Parteivorsitzende und Mitglied im Spitzenteam der LINKEN zur Bundestagswahl, Jan van Aken, den von der US-Regierung vorgelegten Bericht, dass das Assad-Regime den Chemiewaffen-Angriff bei Damaskus durchgeführt habe.

Der Bericht erinnert an den Report der USA, mit dem der Irakkrieg 2003 begonnen wurde. Die von Außenminister Kerry vorgetragenen Argumente sind fadenscheinig:
1. Assad verfüge über Chemiewaffen und die entsprechende Munition. Das ist richtig. Die These, dass die Rebellen darüber nicht verfügen, ist jedoch kaum haltbar. Sowohl durch Überläufer als auch bei der Eroberung von Armee-Stützpunkten können die Rebellen leicht an diese Waffen kommen können.
2. Assad habe bereits mehrfach in diesem Jahr chemische Waffen eingesetzt. Deshalb sei ihm zuzutrauen, dass er es wieder war. Dieses Argument ist erstens nicht belegt und zweitens ein Zirkelschluss.
3. Kurz vor dem Angriff mit chemischen Waffen seien Truppen des Regimes gesehen worden, die chemische Munition vorbereitet hätten. In der Nähe der möglichen Abschussorte seien Regimeangehörige mit Gasmasken gesehen worden. Auf den ersten Blick eines der gewichtigeren Argumente, allerdings bleibt die Quelle unklar. Falls dies auf Berichten von Geheimdienst-Informanten beruht, müssen diese Angaben allerdings mit größter Vorsicht betrachtet werden - auch der Verdacht auf mobile Biowaffen-Labore im Irak 2003 beruhte auf Geheimdienst-Informanten.
4. Nach dem Angriff mit Chemiewaffen seien Gespräche abgehört worden, unter anderem von einem höherrangigen Offiziellen (official, nicht officer), der den Einsatz von Chemiewaffen bestätigt habe und über eine Entdeckung durch die UN-Inspekteure besorgt gewesen sei. Mir ist unklar, warum die Mitschnitte dieser Gespräche nicht schon lange veröffentlicht wurden, wenn sie denn so eindeutig sind. Bei abgehörten Gesprächen kann Quellenschutz ja nicht das Problem sein. Insgesamt ist die Beweislage sehr viel dünner als im Jahre 2003. Ich fordere die Bundesregierung auf, ihr ganzes politisches Gewicht dafür einzusetzen, einen amerikanischen Bombenangriff zu verhindern. Bomben schaffen keinen Frieden. Die Menschen in Syrien brauchen dringend humanitäre Hilfe.
