Die Politik verzichtet zunehmend auf ihren regulierenden Einfluss zugunsten eines freien Spiels der wirtschaftlichen Kräfte. Damit verliert der Kapitalismus immer mehr seine sozialen Aspekte. Deregulierung lässt die Banken immer mächtiger werden, und aus dem Investitionskapitalismus wird ein hemmungsloser Spekulationskapitalismus. Überall werden neue Finanzinstrumente erfunden, deren Nutzen mehr als fragwürdig ist. Risiken werden kleingeredet, um die Bevölkerung zu beruhigen. Grenzenlose Verschuldung privater wie öffentlicher Haushalte wird zum Regelfall. Geschäftsbanken, Hedgefonds und Versicherungen gehen ungeahnte Risiken ein. Geld bewegt sich immer schneller rund um die Welt. Ob Rohstoffe, Immobilien oder undurchschaubar gewordene Finanzinstrumente, die Spekulanten machen vor nichts halt, sofern Profit angesagt ist. Nichts kann sie aufhalten. Und dann platzen im Jahr 2007 zunächst in den USA die Immobilienkredite und eine weltweite Finanzkrise setzt ein, die bis heute nicht ausgestanden ist.''

Geschäftsbanken, Hedgefonds und Versicherungen spielen mit Risiken und Vertrauen, mit wahren und falschen Werten. Derivate werden immer komplexer, Kommissionen steigen ins Unermessliche, und Geldmengen bewegen sich immer schneller um die ganze Welt. Die Gefahr einer Finanzblase steigt. Ob Rohstoffe, Immobilienkredite oder undurchschaubar gewordene Finanzinstrumente, die Spekulanten machen auf der Suche nach Profit vor nichts halt.

Wie konnte sich dieses System durchsetzen, und warum können die Staaten es nicht mehr kontrollieren? Die Antwort scheint nahe zu liegen: Die Bankiers haben die Macht übernommen. In den Vereinigten Staaten etwa ist die ''Krake'' namens Goldman Sachs allgegenwärtig und viele Männer und Frauen in Machtpositionen waren oder sind immer noch für diese Bank tätig. Auch in Europa, vor allem in Brüssel, schreiben die omnipräsenten Banken den Staaten ihre Gesetze vor. Und eine Änderung ist trotz globaler Finanzkrise nicht in Sicht.''

Die NATO kann ihr Scheitern nicht mehr verbergen

Zum elften Jahrestag des Beginns des Afghanistan-Krieges am 7. Oktober 2001 erklärt Christine Buchholz, Mitglied im Geschäftsführenden Vorstand der Partei DIE LINKE:

Der Afghanistan-Krieg der NATO ist ein Desaster ohne Ende. Das Versprechen auf Abzug der Truppen bis 2014 sollte beruhigend wirken. Doch vor dem Hintergrund einer wachsenden Anzahl von Insider-Angriffen gegen westliche Truppen kann die NATO ihr Scheitern nicht mehr verbergen. Sie hat erklärt, die Ausbildung der so genannten afghanischen Sicherheitskräfte auszusetzen. Damit ist die zentrale Begründung der Bundesregierung für den Abzugstermin 2014 entfallen. Doch darüber schweigt die Bundesregierung und beschönigt die Situation. Die LINKE fordert endlich Klarheit über die wirklichen Pläne der Regierungskoalition. Besorgt nehmen wir zur Kenntnis, dass der Bundesnachrichtendienst aus Angst vor der Unzuverlässigkeit der bewaffneten afghanischen Organe über 2014 hinaus 35.000 deutsche Soldaten für Afghanistan fordert, unter anderem Kampftruppen. Die wachsende Anzahl von Insider-Angriffen ist kein Grund, den Krieg zu verlängern. Im Gegenteil: Der Abzug der Bundeswehr muss sofort beginnen. Der Krieg in Afghanistan dient ausschließlich geostrategischen Machtinteressen der NATO-Staaten. Zehntausende Afghaninnen und Afghanen hat der Krieg das Leben gekostet. Über 3000 NATO-Soldaten, darunter 53 Bundeswehrsoldaten, sind in diesem sinnlosen Krieg bisher gefallen.

Heute wird der Film ''Auslandseinsatz'' von Till Endemann im öffentlich-rechtlichen Fernsehen ausgestrahlt, dazu erklärt Christine Buchholz, Mitglied im Geschäftsführenden Vorstand der Partei DIE LINKE:

Der Spielfilm erzählt die Geschichte einer Gruppe von Bundeswehrsoldaten in Afghanistan. Er öffnet die Black-Box des Isaf-Einsatzes und offenbart das Bild eines Krieges, der nicht zu gewinnen ist. Der Film stellt die Widersprüche innerhalb des Militärs dar. Die Soldaten glauben zu Beginn ihres Einsatzes daran, dass sie in Afghanistan sind, um den Menschen zu helfen. Doch sie erleben bald, dass die wahre Mission der Isaf Aufstandsbekämpfung heißt. Die Geschlossenheit der Bundeswehr bekommt Risse. Wenn die Lage in »Auslandseinsatz« nur halbwegs realistisch dargestellt ist, dann ist die Bundeswehr nur bedingt einsatzbereit. Und das ist auch gut so. Die NATO-Strategie ist gescheitert. Die sofortige Abzug aus diesem Krieg ist überfällig.

Aus dem Text: ''?Griechenland (und andere Staaten natürlich auch) muss für seine Rettung bezahlen, durch weiter schrumpfende Sozialausgaben (freilich nicht durch ein schrumpfendes Militärbudget, denn damit werden deutsche und französische Waffen gekauft), durch eine wachsende Steuerlast, die den Bürgern die Kauf- und Unternehmen die Investitionskraft nimmt und durch die Privatisierung auch des letzten Tafelsilbers, das der Staat in seinen Schatullen weiß. Griechenland war kaum je wettbewerbsfähig in der Eurozone, es wird nach dieser ökonomischen Kastration nie wieder wettbewerbsfähig sein. Das ergibt sich ganz einfach aus dem Wirken ökonomischer Gesetz und ist politisch gewollt. Griechenland taugt zum warnenden Exempel, weil es seine ''Rettung'' so teuer bezahlen muss. (?) Was da als Krisenpolitik betrieben wird, ist nicht anderes als Klassenkampf von oben. Darin besteht die Euro-Rettung, darauf reduziert sich derzeit die Europäische Idee oder was davon übrig blieb. Welchen Widerspruch und Widerstand das auslöst, davon kann sich Angela Merkel in Athen einen besseren Eindruck als in Deutschland verschaffen, wo willfährige Gewerkschaften bestenfalls murren, anstatt sich kraftvoll zu wehren.''
