Voters may find it hard to believe anyone would support such things, so they are likely to discount even factual descriptions as partisan distortion. The pro-Obama New Priorities PAC stumbled across this phenomena early in 2012 in its focus group testing. When they informed a focus group that Romney supported the budget plan by Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), and thus championed ending Medicare as we know it while also championing tax cuts for the wealthy, focus group participants simply didn t believe it. No politician could be so clueless...

Quo vadis Energiewende?

''Sozial-ökologisch oder marktradikal, das ist hier die Frage. Die heutigen Äußerungen des FDP-Vorsitzenden und Wirtschaftsministers Rösler, dass die Kürzungen bei der Solarförderung nur ein erster Schritt seien, sind ein weiterer Angriff auf die Interessen der kleinen und mittleren Unternehmen der Branche der Erneuerbaren Energien, ihrer Beschäftigten und auf die der Verbraucherinnen und Verbraucher.'', erklärt Martin Schirdewan, Mitglied des Parteivortandes der LINKEN, zu den Verlautbarungen Röslers, nachdem die FDP an einem Konzept arbeite, das Erneuerbare-Energien-Gesetz (EEG) zu reformieren. Schirdewan weiter:

Röslers Politik ist dort rückwärtsgewandt, wo sie in die Zukunft weisen müsste. Das bisherige Ergebnis der Energiewende der Bundesregierung lässt sich kurz und knapp zusammenfassen: Strom wird immer teurer. Doch während einerseits die energieintensiv produzierenden Unternehmen von der EEG-Umlage befreit werden, können sich andererseits immer mehr einkommensschwache Haushalte und Hartz-IV-Empfängerinnen und -Empfänger den täglich notwendigen Strom nicht mehr leisten.

Deshalb fordert DIE LINKE in Übereinstimmung mit Sozialverbänden Sozialstromtarife. Zugleich trägt die Politik der Bundesregierung gezielt dazu bei, die Vormachtposition der großen Energiekonzerne gegenüber den kleinen und mittleren Unternehmen zu schützen. Gerade in den ostdeutschen Bundesländern wird in Form von Insolvenzen und Arbeitsplatzabbau die Zeche für diese falsche Politik gezahlt.

Eine Energiewende unter marktradikalen Vorzeichen kann nicht gelingen. DIE LINKE steht für den sozial-ökologischen Umbau. Dieser kann nur erfolgreich gestaltet werden, wenn er dezentral und kommunal durch öffentliche und kleine und mittlere Unternehmen umgesetzt wird. So werden demokratische Mitbestimmung vor Ort und Teilhabe aller Bürgerinnen und Bürger an der Energiewende gewährleistet.

Röslers Netzplanwirtschaft widerspricht Zielen der Energiewende

''Zentral, unökologisch, undemokratisch und die Konzerne bevorzugend, so stellt sich Philipp Rösler seine Energiewende vor.'', erklärt Martin Schirdewan, Mitglied des Parteivorstandes von DIE LINKE, zur fortgesetzten Debatte um den Ausbau der Energienetze und den jüngsten Äußerungen des Wirtschaftsministers und FDP-Vorsitzenden Rösler. Schirdewan weiter:

Rösler hat offenbar vergessen, worin Sinn und Zweck der Energiewende bestehen. Ursprünglich geht es um die ökologisch nachhaltige Neugestaltung der Energieerzeugung, -weiterleitung und des Energieverbrauchs unter demokratischer Beteiligung der Bürgerinnen und Bürger. Der Minister nimmt jetzt das offenkundige Defizit beim Netzausbau zum Anlass, endlich einmal nicht über den Zustand seiner kaputten Partei, sondern darüber nachzudenken, wie der Strom von Nord nach Süd und von Ost nach West gelangen kann. Und kommt zu dem irrigen Ergebnis, zentrale Monstertrassen durch das Land zu ziehen, dafür ökologische Richtlinien außer Kraft zu setzen und die Beteiligungsrechte der Bürgerinnen und Bürger einzuschränken. Röslers Energiewende zerstört die Umwelt und beschneidet demokratische Partizipation und Teilhabe. Sein Wunschergebnis sieht wahrscheinlich wie folgt aus: die Konzessionen für die zukünftig neuerrichteten Netze gehen an die großen Energiemultis über, nachdem die Netze zuvor mit Hilfe massiver staatlicher Subventionen errichtet wurden. Auf die Idee, über eine wirkliche Strategie des sozial-ökologischen Umbaus der Gesellschaft nachzudenken, verfällt in dieser Bundesregierung absolut niemand. Dabei liegen die Alternativen auf der Hand. So dezentral sich die Gewinnung von Erneuerbaren Energien gestaltet, so dezentral muss dieser Strom auch in die Netze gespeist werden. Dafür ist der Ausbau dezentraler und kommunal verwalteter Netzstrukturen notwendig. Die Bürgerinnen und Bürger vor Ort sollen selbst über ihren Strom entscheiden können. Der Energiebedarf der Industrie in Deutschland und in Europa muss durch die Entwicklung intelligenter Stromnetze, der smart grids, gesichert werden. Dezentrale Erzeugung und zentraler Verbrauch sind wahrlich kein Widerspruch, sondern zukunftsweisende Politik.

Foreclosure filings increase in 60% of large US cities

Across the nation, one in 126 households received a foreclosure notice in the first half, RealtyTrac said. Of the 212 metro areas with at least 200,000 residents, 125 cities had an increase in filings from the latter half of 2011.
