In der Handlungsempfehlung für ''Psychische Gesundheit im Betrieb''
(Ausschuss für Arbeitsmedizin im Auftrag des Ministeriums) von 2011. Deutlich ist, dass die Politik derzeit dazu tendiert, Burnout abseits vom arbeitsmarktpolitischen Scherbenhaufen zu besprechen. (?) Bei alldem stellt sich die Frage, ob denn arbeitsbedingter Stress wirklich das gleiche sein solle wie ''Stress am Arbeitsplatz'', der zurzeit viel besprochen wird. Sind es nicht auch pekuniäre Sorgen bei Niedriglohnverhältnissen, familiäre Sorgen oder Bewerbungsstress zwischen verschiedenen befristeten Arbeiten, die Erschöpfung mit bedingen können? Und was ist mit den Freelancern, die heute gar nicht im Betrieb, sondern freiberuflich für verschiedene Firmen arbeiten und zeitweise ''Aufstocker-Geld'' beim Jobcenter beziehen?..."
