Wenn immer eine Lücke entsteht, sollen Hartz IV Bezieher als kostenlose Reserve herhalten. Wie nun bekannt wurde, lassen CDU Politiker prüfen, ob Bezieher des Arbeitslosengeldes II (Hartz IV) zu 'gemeinnützigen Tätigkeiten' herangezogen werden können. Denn durch die Aussetzung der Wehrwehrpflicht zum ersten Juni 2011 fällt auch der Zivildienst weg. Ginge es nach dem Willen der Unionspolitiker, sollen Hartz IV Bezieher zum Arbeitsdienst herangezogen werden, natürlich unentgeltlich. Nach einem Urteil des Bundessozialgerichts (BSG) in Kassel haben ALG II - Empfänger (Hartz IV), die als 1-Euro-Jobber zum Beispiel mit Aufsammeln von Müll und Unrat im Stadtgebiet, Park oder Wald beschäftigt werden, einen Anspruch auf tarifliche Entlohnung gegenüber dem JobCenter. Nach dem Urteil des BSG muss die Behörde nachweisen, dass die Arbeit 'zusätzlich' ist. Die oben aufgeführten Arbeiten zählen nach dem Urteil des BSG nicht hierzu, sondern sind originäre Aufgaben der Gemeinde. Rechtswidriger Anstieg der Hartz IV Sanktionen

In großen Lettern prangte es gestern in der Bild-Zeitung: 'Immer mehr Santionen gegen Hartz IV Empfänger'. Allein im letzten Jahr wurden rund 830.000 Sanktionen mit Leistungskürzungen gegen Bezieher des Arbeitslosengeld II verhängt. Chaos auch bei den Bildungsgutscheinen

Während auf der einen Seite die betroffenen Eltern kritisiert werden, weil diese die Leistungen des Hartz IV Bildungspaketes nur in geringer Zahl beantragen, treffen auf der anderen Seite die Eltern, die dies bisher bereits getan haben, oftmals auf schlecht vorbereitete Mitarbeiter in den Jobcentern. With all the talk about how companies like General Electric and Cisco pay no or very low U.S. taxes, reader Hal Helfan of Oakland wants to know why cant there be an alternative minimum tax for corporations like there is for individuals, to make sure that companies cant use loopholes to wipe out their tax burden. 'If the AMT rate were set appropriately, it would probably be easier to lower the corporate tax rate and would definitely be a boon to small corporations that dont get much benefit from tax credits,' he writes. GOP Begins New Push to Delay EPA Rules on Toxic Power Plant Emissions

Lisa Song, SolveClimate News: 'The rules in question are EPA s air toxics standards to control mercury and other poisonous substances from power plants, as well as the Maximum Achievable Control Technology (MACT) standards that govern hazardous emissions from boilers and cement plants. EPA released the nation s first regulations for toxic power plant emissions on March 16. The boiler rules were announced in February 2011 and the cement standards in August 2010. All of the policies are mandated by the 1990 amendment to the Clean Air Act and originally set to be finalized in 2000.'

Depleted uranium has been proven to cause serious damage to troops, civilians and the environment, but the US, France and Britain have blocked a UN ban proposal. In an interview with Press TV, Conn Hallinan, of Foreign Policy and Focus in Berkeley, California, discusses the West s awareness of the immense long-term danger of using depleted uranium in weapons, and its leaching impact, which poisons the environment and water supply for billions of years. Depleted uranium is being used in Libya in NATO weapons. Out of the 800,000 troops that served in the Gulf, about 107,000 of them are down with Gulf War Syndrome. There is no question that depleted uranium played a major role in the development of Gulf War syndrome. The main problem for the civilians is that depleted uranium is extremely heavy -- about the heaviest thing you can imagine, so when it misses a target and doesn't explode, then it goes very deep into the ground -- about 25-30 inches into the ground and when the rain comes that starts leaching into the environment, and possibly, the water supply. The UN sub-committee has called for a ban on depleted uranium in munitions in violation of the Geneva Convention and UN Charter. And that action was blocked by France, Britain and the US.
