Zu der Äußerung des neuen Innenministers Hans-Peter Friedrich, der Islam gehöre nicht zu Deutschland, erklärt Christine Buchholz, Mitglied im geschäftsführenden Parteivorstand der LINKEN:

Kaum ist er im Amt, so brüskiert der neue Innenminister die Muslime in Deutschland. Wenn Friedrich von der 'christlich-jüdischen Leitkultur' spricht, grenzt er bewusst Muslime aus. Es stünde dem neuen Innenminister gut zu Gesicht, bestehende Diskriminierungen von Muslimen und antimuslimische Gewalt zu bekämpfen, anstatt diese anzuheizen. Die Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung hat kürzlich herausgefunden, dass 58,4% der Deutschen die Religionsausübung für Muslime einschränken wollen. In der Krise drohen Rassismus und Rechtsextremismus weiter zuzunehmen. Ein Innenminister, der in einer solchen Situation Muslime ausgrenzt, gießt Öl ins Feuer.
