Bäume als Regenmacher in der Steppe

Soweit das Auge reichte, lag menschenleere Ödnis. Noch vor 25 Jahren herrschte trostlose Steppe im kolumbianischen Las Gaviotas. Heute wachsen wieder Waldgärten auf über 8000 ha, und mit dem Wald kehrte auch der Regen zurück. So ernährt der Wald bereits über 200 Familien, die neben veredelten Produkten aus den Waldgärten inzwischen sogar Trinkwasser in die Hauptstadt verkaufen.
