10% of world's largest companies (Global 500) produce 73% of greenhouse gases

Fifty of the 500 largest listed companies in the world are responsible for nearly three quarters of the group?s 3.6 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, so finds the CDP Global 500 Climate Change Report 2013 released. The carbon emitted by these 50 highest emitting companies, which primarily operate in the energy, materials and utilities sectors, has risen by 1.65% to 2.54 billion metric tons over the past four years. This increase is equivalent to adding more than 8.5 million pickup trucks to the streets, or the supply of electricity to 6 million homes for a year[1].

Keith Alexander, the head of the NSA, was confronted with this litany of unlawful and unconstitutional behavior, he replied by claiming that his spies have saved the U.S. from 54 terrorist plots. He pleaded with lawmakers not to strip him of the power to spy or of the billions they have given him to spend on spying, lest another 9/11 plot befall us. Many Americans were willing to make this trade: spy on 330,000,000 Americans in order to stop 54 plots. But the government lacks the moral and constitutional power to compel this trade, because the right to privacy is a personal, individual and inalienable right, and so it cannot lawfully be taken away by majority vote (which never happened) or by secret fiat (which did happen)...

?Angela Merkel muss jetzt alle Fakten auf den Tisch packen: Welche Daten hat Deutschland dem völkerrechtswidrigen Drohnenkrieg der USA zugeliefert? Die noch amtierende Bundesregierung muss erklären, wie die tödlichen Angriffe vor Ort unterstützt wurden, logistisch oder mit Informationen", fordert Jan van Aken, stellvertretender Parteivorsitzender der LINKEN, angesichts des heute öffentlich gewordenen Berichtes von Amnesty international über den US-Drohnenkrieg.

Laut Amnesty international sind die Drohnenangriffe der USA völkerrechtswidrig und möglicherweise als Kriegsverbrechen zu ahnden. Doch auch Deutschland mischt, wie so oft, kräftig im Krieg mit. Deutsche Firmen liefern Bauteile für die US-amerikanischen Kampfdrohnen, mit Genehmigung der Bundesregierung. Solche Lieferungen müssen ab sofort gestoppt werden, denn Deutschland darf diesen schmutzigen Krieg Obamas nicht unterstützen.
