Thomas Rotarius verwendet ihn in seinem Buch 'Dauerhafte Energiequellen', einem Standardwerk der frühen Erneuerbaren-Szene in Deutschland, das in 15 Auflagen erschien. Neu ist der Begriff also keineswegs, aber griffig, und vor allem soll das Wort Wende ihn wohl in die übrigen 'Wenden' einreihen, als da wären die 1. Wende, die Regierungsübernahme 1982, die 2.
