''Der Burgfrieden zwischen Rösler und Altmaier beruht auf einer falschen Analyse der Strompreisexplosion. Statt an die Konzerngewinne zu gehen behindern sie weiterhin den notwendigen Ausbau erneuerbarer Energie. Ihre angebliche Strompreisbremse entpuppt sich als Nebelkerze'' erklärt Caren Lay, stellvertretende Parteivorsitzende der LINKEN und Expertin für Energie und Ökologie im Spitzenteam zur Bundestagswahl anlässlich des gemeinsamen Energiepapiers vom Umweltminister Altmaier und Wirtschaftsminister Rösler. Caren Lay weiter:

''Wenn sie den Strompreisanstieg tatsächlich unterbinden wollen, muss eine effektive staatliche Preisaufsicht wieder eingeführt werden damit gesunkenen Preise an der Strombörse an die Verbraucherinnen und Verbraucher weitergegeben werden können. Es wäre wünschenswert, wenn die Koalition endlich die Privilegien zurücknehmen würde. Hier steckt der Teufel im Detail. Die Formulierungen im Papier sind vage und verräterisch. Ob die Abschaffung der Privilegierung einiger energieintensiver Branchen wirklich kommen oder doch nur Augenwischerei sind, ist also noch völlig offen. Schwarz-Gelb betreibt weiterhin einseitiges Bashing gegen die erneuerbaren Energien und verkennt, dass es sich hierbei um eine Zukunftsbranche handelt. Die konventionellen Energie-Konzerne, die nach wie vor auf Kohle und Atom setzen, werden hingegen mit Samthandschuhen angefasst.''

Solarstrom: 2013 erstmals günstiger als Haushaltsstrom

Die Erneuerbaren Energieträger haben laut der Agentur für Erneuerbare Energien 2012 insgesamt 22 Prozent zur Brutto-Stromerzeugung in Deutschland beigetragen, ein Anstieg um 2 Prozentpunkte gegenüber dem Vorjahr 2011. Dabei hat die Windkraft mit einem Anteil von 7,4 Prozent an der Gesamtstrommenge nach wie vor den größten Anteil. Die Photovoltaik verzeichnete jedoch den höchsten Anstieg und erhöhte ihren Anteil an der Bruttostrommenge von 3 Prozent auf nun 4,5 Prozent. Die Stromerzeugung aus Biomasse wiederum erhöhte sich 2012 um 0,6 Prozentpunkte auf 6,6 Prozent. Die Stromgewinnung aus Wasserkraft blieb nahezu unverändert bei 3,4 Prozent (Grafik 1).
