Die Erzählung von der Staatsschuldenkrise entpuppt sich bei näherer Betrachtung als ökonomisches Märchen. Hierzulande sind die realen Staatsausgaben vor der Krise sogar gesunken. Der Schuldenanstieg resultierte allein aus politischer Reichtumspflege und den Folgen der Finanzmarktkrise. Das Gemeinwohl schrumpfte zugunsten steigender Vermögen. Und jetzt sollen die Schuldenberge dadurch abgetragen werden, dass abhängig Beschäftigte, Rentner und Arbeitslose den Gürtel enger schnallen. Damit muss endlich Schluss sein. Die Schuldenfrage ist eine Verteilungsfrage. Der private Reichtum muss jetzt zum Abbau der Staatsschulden herangezogen werden??

Der Einbruch in der europäischen Nachfrage lasse die Exporte nach Europa in Südostasien, den Schwellenländern und den USA einbrechen, was wiederum auch auf den europäischen Exportsektor zurückstrahlt, der sich ebenfalls mit einer sinkenden Nachfrage jenseits der Eurozone konfrontiert sieht. Entscheidend aber ist, wie die Nachfrage in Europa generiert wurde, die nun aufgrund der europäischen Sparpolitik wegbricht und zu den weltweit sinkenden Exporten in die Eurozone führt. Offensichtlich geschah dies durch Defizitbildung, also durch Verschuldungsprozesse, die gekappt worden sind und nun zu der europäischen wie globalen Konjunkturabkühlung führen. Der Versuch der Europäer, ihren Schuldenberg vermittels rigoroser Sparpolitik abzutragen, lässt somit nicht nur Europa in die Rezession schlittern, er führt auch die ''verflochtene'' Weltwirtschaft an den Rand einer handfesten Weltwirtschaftskrise. Die in der hiesigen Presse permanent beklagten Verschuldungsprozesse bildeten somit das wichtigste Schmiermittel der Wirtschaftsmaschinerie des kapitalistischen Weltsystems, die ohne diese Defzitbildung sofort zu stottern beginnt und in Rezession übergeht?''

Nach Angaben des neuen Armuts- und Reichtumsberichts (A+R), der sich auf das Jahr 2008 bezieht und erst im Entwurf vorliegt und am 14.11.2012 vom Kabinett beschlossen wird, hatte die ärmere Hälfte der Bevölkerung nach Abzug der Schulden faktisch kein Vermögen (gerade mal 1 % des Gesamtvermögens). Über 40 Millionen Menschen hierzulande sind also buchstäblich Habenichtse. ''Ich war jetzt zuletzt zweieinhalb Jahre in einem Jobcenter in Hamburg als Arbeitsvermittler tätig. Jeder Vermittler hatte sich dort um circa 350 Personen zu kümmern, und dies sei noch wenig, wie man mir berichtete. Grundsätzlich geht es nur sekundär um diejenigen, denen dort geholfen werden soll. Das Führungspersonal steht unter großem Druck, gewünschte Zahlen zu produzieren; diesem Ziel wird dort radikal alles untergeordnet. Auf Dienstbesprechungen wurden immer wieder Vergleichszahlen und Rankings anderer Jobcenter präsentiert. Mit zum Teil aberwitzigen Aktionen seitens der Teamleitung wurde versucht, das Jobcenter im Ranking zu verbessern, wobei weder nach regionalen Besonderheiten noch sonst wie unterschieden wurde. Einmal hieß es: »Um das Budget für das nächste Jahr zu sichern, müssen in Hamburg in den kommenden zwei Wochen 3000 Personen einer Arbeitsgelegenheit zugewiesen werden: Eine mündliche Dienstanweisung an alle Vermittler.« Oder: »Bei den Sanktionen sind wir im vorderen Drittel, weiter so!« Eines der wichtigsten geschäftspolitischen Ziele eines Jobcenters jedes Jahr ist die Senkung der passiven Leistung, da sind Sanktionen das einfachste Mittel?''
