Würde man die Argumentation der (Schein)sicherhetisapologeten konsequent anwenden, so müsste schon der erste Fall von Polizeigewalt zu Rufen nach mehr interner Kontrolle, konsequenter Überwachung von Polizeieinsätzen sowie der Speicherung der entsprechenden Daten auf Vorrat führen. 'Wer nichts zu verbergen hat, hat auch nichts zu befürchten' lautet die oft genug wiederholte Standardargumentation, wann immer es gilt, Kritiker von Überwachung und Datensammlung ins Abseits zu rücken. Diese bereits hinreichend analysierte Phrase spielt jedoch bei der Auseinandersetzung um Polizeigewalt sowie deren Aufklärung keine Rolle.
