Getting used to life without food

The record rise in grain and food prices in recent years is not a mere Wall Street profit gimmick, although obscene profits are being made. Rather, it is apparently an integral part of a long-term strategy whose roots go back to the years just after World War Two when Nelson Rockefeller and his brothers tried to organize the global food chain along the same monopoly model they had used for world oil. Food would henceforth become just another commodity like oil or tin or silver whose scarcity and price could ultimately be controlled by a small group of powerful trading insiders. In short, the use of farmland worldwide for bio-ethanol and other biofuels - burning the food product rather than using it for human or animal feed - is being treated in Washington, the EU, Brazil and other major centers as a major new growth industry. The impact on human beings, however, is quite the opposite. It is rapidly becoming a death industry, death of million s of innocent human beings unable to afford adequate nourishment for themselves or their families.

Prinovis-Demo gegen das System Bertelsmann

26.9. Demo gegen Bertelsmann

'Die Vereinte Dienstleistungsgewerkschaft (ver.di) ruft für morgen, 26. September, Beschäftigte aus ganz Deutschland zu einer Kundgebung vor der Hauptstadtdependance der Bertelsmann-Stiftung auf. Teilnehmen werden unter anderem Streikende der Bertelsmann-Tiefdruckerei Prinovis Nürnberg. Dort kämpfen die Beschäftigten für einen Anerkennungs- und Sozialtarifvertrag. Zuvor hatte die dortige Geschäftsleitung angekündigt, bis zu 140 von 200 Be-schäftigten kündigen zu wollen, die sich geweigert hatten, in einem betrieblichen Bündnis unbezahlte Mehrarbeit zu leisten und auf Gehaltsbestandteile zu verzichten. Dadurch sollte eine vermeintliche Arbeitsplatzsicherheit erzielt werden. 'Auch in anderen zu Bertelsmann gehörenden Unternehmen werden die Kolleginnen und Kollegen erpresst, untertarifliche Beschäftigungsbedingungen zu akzeptieren', kritisierte der stellvertretende ver.di-Vorsitzende Frank Werneke. An der Kundgebung nehmen darüber hinaus auch Beschäftigte aus ehemaligen Betrieben von o2 und der Telekom teil, die von Arvato übernommen worden waren und deren Arbeitsbedingungen im Zuge der Übernahme ebenfalls drastisch verschlechtert wurden. Der Demonstrationszug wird begleitet von der Bläsergruppe 'Fanfara Kalashnikov'. Am Kundgebungsort selber wird um ca.

Das Finanzministerium legt mit seinem Bericht das Existenzminimum fest. Auch dieser Bericht ist vom Bestreben geprägt, das Existenzminimum kleinzurechnen. Dieses wird nach Kassenlage festgesetzt und folgt der Einsparungslogik. Das Grundrecht auf die Sicherung der Existenz und gesellschaftlichen Teilhabe hat sich aber nicht an der Kassenlage sondern am notwendigen Bedarf zu orientieren. Der Existenzminimumbericht ist kein Fall für das Haus Schäuble. Er gehört in die Hände einer unabhängigen Fachkommission.

Die stellvertretende Vorsitzende der LINKEN, Katja Kipping, kritisiert die geplante Anhebung des Hartz-IV-Regelsatzes um lediglich zehn Euro im Jahr 2012 als unzureichend. Das Existenzminimum werde nach Kassenlage berechnet.Die Vorsitzende des Sozialausschusses im Bundestag fordert die Einrichtung einer unabhängigen Expertenkommission zur Berechnung des Regelsatzes. Kipping erklärt:

Eine Anhebung des Regelsatzes um lediglich zehn Euro wäre vollkommen ungenügend. Es liegt auf der Hand, dass die grundlegenden Mängel der Regelsatzberechnung nicht behoben worden sind. Mit allen Mitteln wird das Existenzminimum kleingerechnet und nach Kassenlage festgelegt.

Das Grundrecht auf die Sicherung der Existenz und gesellschaftlichen Teilhabe hat sich aber nicht an der Kassenlage sondern am notwendigen Bedarf zu orientieren. Das Existenzminimum ist kein Fall für die Ministerialbürokratie. Die Prüfung und Berechnung des Regelsatzes gehört in die Hände einer unabhängigen Expertenkommission.

Um von dem Image-GAU ihres einstigen Prestigeprojekts abzulenken, dreht Ministerin von der Leyen an der Stigmatisierungsschraube. Eltern sollen zum Hartz-IV-Outing über eine aufsuchende Sozialarbeit gezwungen werden. Dabei werden die zweifelhaften Segnungen des Bildungs- und Teilhabepakets häufig deshalb nicht genutzt, weil die Eltern nicht wollen, dass die Vereine erfahren, dass ihre Kinder auf Hartz IV angewiesen sind, oder sie nicht die Fahrtkosten zum Vereinsangebot aufbringen können.

Das Bürokratiemonster mit Stigmatisierungseffekten versagt, eine eigenständige Kindergrundsicherung zur Absicherung der Existenz und Teilhabe der Kinder und Jugendlichen muss her.
