That?s founder and first supreme court justice John Jay. Obviously, Big Money has always been the most powerful influence in American politics (maybe all politics.) But until they adopted the Randian notion that they are so valuable to society that everyone must bow down and worship them like gods, they had the good taste to at least publicly pretend they cared about the country as a whole. That?s done now. Today they are just blatantly demanding that the 98% of Americans who don?t have the cash to buy in, shut up and do as they?re told. They seem very, very confident that it?s going to work out for them...

Conflict of Interest in Drug Studies Sneaking Back

A McGill study analyzing 29 'studies of studies' (meta-analyses) found that important declarations of financial conflicts-of-interest in individual drug trials disappeared when those studies were combined in meta-analyses. Dr. John Ioannidis, a foremost expert on clinical trial methodology has identified various factors that, in one way or another, confound the integrity of medical research reports. He found that 'as much as 90% of the published medical information that doctors rely on is flawed.' We believe that the single most potent factor undermining the veracity of medical research and meta-analyses is imbedded financial conflicts of interest.

Republican fund-raisers are treating Americans like little children, as if the GOP knows best and must shelter the youngsters from the truth. It?s like when a kindergartner asks his father if mommy is coming home soon, and the widower replies that she?s on a long business trip. The parent is attempting to shield the child from the cruel truth, afraid the little one can?t handle it. That?s what Republican campaign fund-raising groups are doing by concealing their donors from the public. The GOP does not trust Americans to handle the information. Republican operatives want to shield voters from knowing who is actually paying for GOP attack ads...
