O2 X1 Product Recall

In response to a fault identified with the O2 X1 mobile phone, O2 is recalling this phone and offering customers a new replacement phone free of charge. Your statutory rights are unaffected. In addition on Monday 27th March 2006 O2 will immobilise all O2 X1 phones so they cannot be used within the UK anymore.

For safety reasons we recommend that you do not re-charge your O2 X1 phone and ask you to return it to us together with battery and charger for replacement immediately. In extreme cases this fault may cause overheating and fire when charging.

The replacement phone that will be sent out to you is the O2 X2i. Below are the features of the O2 X2i.
