The emissions of a PC-LCD screen (at 0.7
m), and a TV-CRT (at 1.0 m) were studied at background of 0.004 mW/cm2, at office desk. When both PC
and TV set, were off, typical readings from air were unstable at 50 - 80
Hz, and from a human forehead, they
were read at 400 - 430 Hz. The PC-LCD
screen emissions were read at ~ 470 kHz,
while TV-CRT emissions were read, at 14 - 16 kHz.
When only PC was on,
readings at desk, were at 55 - 70 Hz, and readings from head
reached 275 - 290 kHz. When only TV was on, readings from air were
at 55 - 70 Hz while 10 - 14 kHz were
read from head. When both TV and PC were on, typical readings at seat, were at
about 40 - 60 Hz, from air, and 115 - 150 kHz from the
head. . These preliminary observations, may indicate that at
'safe' office or domestic background, the high frequency emissions of both
screens were well received in the human head, where they were modulated into
irregular unstable patterns. The average frequency read from the head, when
both PC and TV were on, may indicate of partial interference at point of measurement. The frequency modulation of screens'
emissions absorbed in the head, may resemble in some extent, the irregular
character of natural brain ELF waves, but their patterns did not look alike.
The present evidence of screen emissions, that were absorbed and modulated in
the head, may help to explain how external high frequency emissions, may
interfere with normal brain electric signals, and caused the severe symptoms
experienced by electromagnetic hypersensitive individuals. This study is in progress.
