GREENPEACE E-BULLETIN: CLEAR THE AIR BLAIR!
POSITIVE CHANGE THROUGH ACTION

Welcome back to our e-bulletin! This issue we're calling on Blair to clear the air, pushing for marine reserves, keeping up the pressure on Sainsbury's and inviting you to send a holiday e-card...

CLEAR THE AIR BLAIR!

We've sent Tony Blair ten steps on climate change that he must take to regain our trust.

Last month we withdrew our support for the government's climate change policy. Despite some fine speeches, there's been little action - carbon gas emissions, which cause climate change, have risen under New Labour.

We're calling on Blair to take real action, including an end to government subsidies for dirty fuel industries and more funding for renewable energy.

Read our top ten steps and press Blair to take action.

MARINE RESERVES NOW

A major report by the Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution has just backed our call for large-scale marine reserves - essentially national parks, but at sea.

The report looks at the impact of fishing and says that marine reserves should be created within five years to save threatened fish species.

The North Sea is in crisis after years of oil extraction, pollution and overfishing - cod stocks are close to collapse. A network of marine reserves would help protect this fragile environment.

Find out more and help us save the North Sea.

SAINSBURY'S MILK MOVE

Thanks to our campaign and soaring sales, supermarket giant Sainsbury's will be expanding its new non-GM milk line into 190 stores by Christmas.

However, if you live in the Midlands, north of England, Wales or Scotland you still won't be able to buy it.

We think this is out of order. If you live in these areas, please tell Sainsbury's you don't want something scary in your dairy - all its own-brand milk should be GM free!
