threatens Malaysia's spectacular Tioman Island
One
of Malaysia's renowned dive sites - home to endangered giant
clams, coral reefs, whale sharks and more - is now under threat
from plans to build a marina and extend an airport runway.
If the development goes ahead, it would not only defy Tioman's
status as a nationally protected marine park, but
wipe out the underwater treasures that are of huge value to Tioman's tourism
industry.

to your efforts, Bauhaus AG, one of Europe's leading 'Do it Yourself'
retailers has made a major commitment to protecting our forests!
Over the past months, Passport holders sent 8,000 messages to Bauhaus AG, urging the company to show leadership to help stop destruction of pristine forests. These messages resulted in constructive meetings between WWF and Bauhaus AG, and the company has now agreed to: - work systematically on
excluding illegal wood and wood from primeval forests from
their products This success would not have been possible
without your help. |
Campaign
