RE: WHO CALLS FOR MEASURES TO DEAL WITH EM
WAVES -
A critical review of intentions by Joanne
C. Mueller - 6-17-07
We need announcements that specifically
address "bedroom
appliances" and not the the misrepresentations and
confusion created by focusing on EMF's emitted by hair dryers, electric
shavers, vacuum cleaners and microwave ovens!!!"
While chronic, prolonged exposures to all of the
above-mentioned items are reasons for concern at some level, they are not,
however, likely to be causally linked to childhood Leukemia and are most
likely not responsible for the alarming increases in many health
problems. Such exposures may, however, be
"confounders" and may also exacerbate symptoms of electrosensitivity
due to other chronic, prolonged exposures. Scientific studies regarding
the importance of sustaining, maintaining and increasing melatonin
levels strongly correlate with chronic, prolonged, exposures and, in
particular, "nighttime exposures."
I have grave concerns re "stemming the
tide" regarding rapid increases in cases of autism, early onset Alzheimers
(EOAD) and other neurodegenerative disorders IF the World Health Organization
(WHO) doesn't immediate provide some sort of "responsible,
preliminary, precautionary information" to the effect that persons must
move items such as electric clocks, small fans, touchlamps, lamps with dimmer
switches, noise machines, monitors, TV sets, computer power strips, aquariums
-- due to heaters as well as pumps, transformer boxes for cordless
phones, electronic games and other equipment, security alarms, cell
phone chargers, etc. away from close proximity to beds. Any
item with a motor or transformer should not be close to one's bed.
The world needs to know that no one's bed should be
placed up against a wall containing an electric or gas meter and that wires in
walls close to beds may be emitting strong magnetic fields and electrical
currents. Similar problems occur in regard to waterpipes that
run over or under beds. Even clocks in microwave ovens or stoves
are potential problems in addition to refrigerators -- items that are
"on" all night long and may be up against a wall adjacent to one's
bed.
Use of heated mattress pads should be discouraged as
well as longterm usage of heating pads and electric blankets. In
addition to EMF/EMR concerns, I have recently come across information
indicating that night-long exposure to heat itself may not be a good
thing. At this time, I am in the process of compiling related
materials.
There is also an urgent need to Inform.regarding the
need to install protective cords as well as longer cords to provide distance
between transformer boxes for apnea machines and other medical equipment
The news that WHO is calling for measures is welcome
and important but can the people afford to wait until early next year to learn
that things by their "cozy beds" may be causing irreversible damage
and even death? We must "protect the
innocent NOW......!!!! Joanne
