GREENPEACE E-BULLETIN: WIND FARM VICTORY!
POSITIVE CHANGE THROUGH ACTION

Welcome back to our e-bulletin! We're celebrating wind farm victory, taking on the government over dolphin deaths and protecting our ancient rainforests...

WIND FARM VICTORY!

We've just won Welsh Assembly approval for the Scarweather Sands offshore wind farm!

Assembly members blocked last-minute Tory attempts to scupper the proposal, which means the project will now go ahead without delay.

The pioneering wind farm will be built three miles off the south Wales coast and provide enough clean, renewable energy to power 80,000 homes.

To all of you who joined our campaign to secure this victory - THANK YOU!

GOVERNMENT FAILS DOLPHINS

Ben Bradshaw, the Fisheries Minister, has broken his promise to take urgent action to ban the UK's dolphin-killing pair trawl fishery.

Speaking at the Labour Party conference, he announced a halt to UK boats pair trawling within a paltry 12 miles of shore - despite having the power to enforce a ban up to 200 miles.

The government move will do next to nothing to stop the death of thousands of dolphins each year around the UK in pair trawling nets. Please help us tell Ben Bradshaw to take real action - NOW!

FOREST CRIME RESULT!

Glasgow City Council has suspended work on the National Lottery funded refurbishment of Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum after we exposed it as a rainforest crime scene last month.

Now we're working with them to ensure that the rest of the timber used on site comes from environmentally-friendly Forest Stewardship Council certified sources.

We're monitoring other National Lottery funded projects around the country. Take part in our vote and tell us what you think is the worst example of National Lottery funded rainforest destruction.
