Dear Friend,
Your country needs you on November 2. If you sign up today, you can
still play a critical role in the biggest effort to protect voting
rights since the freedom rides. On November 2, voters will decide the
direction of our country for years to come. Civil rights groups need
your help to protect
the election. Citizens from all walks of life are urgently needed
in many places, but lawyers and those who speak Spanish comfortably are
particularly needed.
The New York Times'
recent editorial stated that, "If this election is going to be a fair
and honest one, concerned citizens will have to do their part to ensure
that every vote counts." The Election
Protection coalition is well organized and ready to help you defend
our democracy.
Join thousands of your friends and
neighbors at ElectionProtection.org,

time, let's not stand by. Volunteering for the 2004 election is really

Dirty
Tricks (no treats)
According to news reports, a voter registration company called Voters
Outreach of America, funded by the Republican National Committee,
collected thousands of voter registration cards, promising to turn them
in to public officials by the deadline, but then pulled out and
systematically destroyed voter registration forms belonging to Nevada
Democrats. Now they have moved on to Oregon. This company's dirty
tricks means that these individuals will be denied their right to vote.
Take
Action
Sincerely,
